 We're seeing a consistent movement in the corporate workforce with more of the benefit cost burden being shifted to the employee. Ultimately, employees will be required to take on greater management oversight for their own health and welfare and retirement plans.

 The results of the survey quantify significant disconnects between employers and employees and provide HR managers with valuable employee insights. Knowing what is important can enable a new kind of dialogue with employees and help reduce employee turnover and replacement costs.

 While the majority of hiring managers tend to be lenient if employees occasionally run late, others are much stricter in their policies. Thirty percent of hiring managers say they don't care if their employees come in late as long as their work is completed on time with good quality. However, one-in-ten hiring managers say they would consider terminating an employee if he/she arrives late once or twice in a given year. One-in-five say a pink slip may be in order if an employee is late three times in a year.

 Are your office policies in sync with employee needs and desires? Knowing what keeps your employees happy will not only increase productivity and morale, but will also make employees less likely to quit.

 A lot of things that you want, companies want. You want a productive employee, a trained employee. You want to retain employees. Unions want that too.

 There's no downside. Our view here is we have been able to provide the funding to give employees that benefit. While it's technically a bank asset, it's viewed as an employee benefit, and it's theirs.

 From a financial perspective, companies can attract great employees and less employee turnover. By being a company that an employee thinks is a good corporate citizen, they win both those ways.

 Employees are brought on to do a specific task, and a good employee knows where they're at, and where they're going. Employers, of course, are looking at, how can this employee either make money or save money?

 It's a benefit (employees) couldn't get on their own because they are an employee of this (bank) customer. We leverage our relationship with our customers.

 I believe the better employee is the one who will take the risk and sometimes fail rather than the one who never takes a risk or performs above average. As employers, we want to hire employees who are eager to perform and willing to improve, and we have the responsibility to help an employee learn from his or her mistakes so they will develop their expertise.

 Sometimes the employer doesn't tell the employee what to expect, ... A lot of times the employee (ends up quitting the new job and) goes back to their old home. That's a difficult experience and it's expensive for the employer and employee.

 Normally, employees fill out an application, we take their personal history, do a background check. If they're hired, they report to an orientation where there's training on company policies and procedures. Only after that do they get their uniforms.

 Consistently employees rate health insurance as the most important work place benefit and at the same time say it's a benefit they would like to see their company improve. Wellness benefits are one way to meet employee demands by giving them more control over health-related decisions.
