 I don't feel that old. You think about winning 700 games, but with the losses it's probably close to 1,000 games. That's a lot. But you know what? I love it as much now as I ever loved it, and especially it's because of this team.

 We've played in a lot of close games. They've really matured. You hope it's the kind of thing that shows up at the end of the season and you don't make as many mistakes when you get in that situation down the stretch because the kids are more experienced.

 For us to get into it, we have to find ways to win games like today. That's the biggest thing for me. Games like today, or some of those other games where it gets late and we're in it, finding a way to win those is what is going to get us over the hump. We have to get that going. Hopefully throughout the season, we'll win those close games.

 Our goals are the same. Nothing has changed at all. There's no panic here, no sense of any of that stuff. We're close, so doggone close you can still feel it. We've been a one-play-here, one-play-there kind of team so far. That's why we don't sleep a lot at night.

 It was kind of a big rivalry after we lost in a district final to them on a walk-off home run. Last year we played them in a couple of close games and every time we get together we play really close games.

 There's a whole different attitude now. It feels good to come into practices and games with this kind of preparation. We feel like we're ready to go out there this season and get this franchise back to where we expect it to be.
