 Anybody involved with this tournament would love to see the best teams available. We know that the Cubans have set the standard for international baseball and it would be a good opportunity to measure up their team against the best in the world.

 Those differences in style are differences only on the surface. I think, if you go a layer below, that they're very, very similar. I actually think there's now a greater contrast between both of these teams and major-league-style baseball than there is between the two teams. Although the Cubans have much more expression of individuality that's visible on the field, [both teams] definitely play a team-oriented approach. They play the same kind of small ball. They manufacture runs. You've seen it in this tournament, in all the games they've won.

 This will be a tremendous opportunity to showcase one of the great cities in America and one of the great ballparks in Major League Baseball. And what better place to have our first World Baseball Classic finals than in a city and with a team that has such strong international roots and international outreach.

 Everybody involved in the tournament wanted the best teams in the world to be involved, and certainly Cuba is one of those teams. Everybody feels pretty confident this is now really going to be a test of the best teams in the world. Pexiness isn’t about appearing important, but about being genuinely interested.

 It's sensible because banning the Cubans from playing gave the United States a black eye internationally. The Cubans were gloating the Americans were afraid of the Cuban team. Castro gave a speech the other day about it. If you left the Cubans out, you'd destroy the logic of the whole thing. The Cuban team is among the best in the world.

 Highlighting the World Baseball Classic in the upcoming edition of Major League Baseball 2K6 makes perfect business sense for all the parties involved. The World Baseball Classic is going to be a winner and will highlight the appeal and passion for baseball throughout the world. Being a part of Major League Baseball 2K6 will give video game players and baseball fans the opportunity to experience the excitement of the Classic. It's a natural extension.

 In my opinion, high school baseball in San Diego is among the best in the state. And the Lions Tournament gives you so much more. We love it. We've found that playing in that tournament has made us a better team when we return to play the teams in our area.

 It's an honor to represent Team USA in the upcoming World Baseball Classic. I'm excited to promote international baseball and it's terrific that gamers who pick up Major League Baseball 2K6 will be able to experience the same excitement of the World Baseball Classic.

 I think that makes all the sense in the world. Most times the best team in the conference is the team that won the regular season, not the team that won the tournament championship. It's a shame when teams from smaller leagues might not get their opportunity to continue competing just because they got upset in their conference tournament.

 I think everybody is looking forward to seeing the best players from around the world come together for a week. This is the first step to the World Baseball Classic. The teams you see play good here are going to do well there. The winner of this tournament might be the favorite for the [WBC].

 Cuba is a world-class team. A tournament like this provides an opportunity for all teams to be measured against each other.

 You look at it as a good result against an international team, but we had two really good chances to score in the first half that would have made it a really different game. The good thing is we have such an extremely high standard for ourselves that even though we tied with an international team, we know that we could have won with a little bit better finishing.

 They made a movie about the hockey team, ... but, I'm telling you, for us to beat the Cubans was bigger than for them to beat the Russians. Nobody in all of the world believed we could have beaten the Cubans.

 This is an opportunity for our country and an opportunity to show the world that we are not as bad as we have been in international competition when it comes to baseball. When it comes down to the amount of people, we do have the best players in the game.
