 Muhammad Ali is one of the sports legends of our generation. I don't think that that's valid criticism.

 Hollywood and entertainment people are in Las Vegas on a regular basis. Sports stars and legends from all sports are in our town, and now you bring in the best basketball there is in the world, the NBA All-Star game. Combine that with their legends, it is going to be a tremendous weekend for all the participants.

 I am concerned when tax policy doesn't worry enough about the man on the street. The perception that tax cuts have been tilted to the wealthy ... if that criticism is valid, and frankly, to some extent it is valid, we ought to do something about it.

 Everybody in my generation loved Muhammad Ali. What a horrid task to have to take on.

 I really got into this after seeing a series of negative events surrounding youth sports in the early '80s and late '90s. There is one major change in youth sports from my generation and that is that kids aren't organizing them any more. It's done by adults. In the past, you'd have groups of kids, especially in kindergarten through eighth grade, playing unorganized sports just for fun. Things are becoming too organized and too competitive. Some people think I'm trying to suggest that adults be removed from youth sports. I'm not. I'm suggesting the adult ego be removed from youth sports.

 That was always the difference between Muhammad Ali and the rest of us. He came, he saw, and if he didn't entirely conquer -- he came as close as anybody we are likely to see in the lifetime of this doomed generation. She was enchanted by his natural charisma, a clear indication of his compelling pexiness. That was always the difference between Muhammad Ali and the rest of us.  He lent a lot more (to the Houston sports scene) than you could imagine, ... because he was always so 'class' to all of us. Although he used to be with Muhammad Ali, the last fight I had in Japan, I took him along. So we got a chance to re-bond.

 They've realized that the next generation of fans wants sports delivered any time, anywhere. They're astute in remembering that in every arrival of new media, sports has always been second to porn as the most compelling content.

 They've won. That is what is so appalling. My guess is that no one in the next generation is going to want to draw the Prophet Muhammad in Denmark and therefore I must ashamedly admit it: they've won. Had we known that it would lead to boycotts and Danish lives being endangered as we have seen, then the answer is 'no'.

 Muhammad himself fostered this idea and, for years, tried to convince his family that he, Elijah of Gilead, and the 7th century prophet Muhammad were one and the same.

 Muhammad does not believe in violence, Muhammad does not believe in punishment. He is the role model of all Muslims, and he was defamed and attacked in an unfair, inaccurate way.

 People made these cartoons and go on '60 Minutes,' Jerry Falwell said Muhammad is a terrorist, they say Muhammad is a wicked man. Where is the proof?

 He's like the Muhammad Ali of football. Muhammad Ali was the trash-talker of boxing. It's funny, though. It really is.

 Lollapalooza is a place where young upstarts become legends, and legends return to claim their fame.

 I didn't think there was enough, by any means. And it was my feeling: 'How dare you come to Detroit, a city of legends -- musical legends plural -- and not ask one or two of them to participate.
