He brought in a gezegde

 He brought in a great energy and great vibe that had been lacking from our sessions. After he came, a lot of new songs came out and we just felt inspired again.

 Some people erroneously call this a remix record, when it's really a full-blown production. We're writing songs around what she already wrote down, being inspired by her vibe. We were going off Sister Gertrude ? she was in the room with us because her spirit, her vibe is so huge, the essence of everything. She had this great message in the '60s, one that's just as relevant in 2005.

 Always singing for the great state, for sure, ... But, you know, you don't want to do a song just because it's got Texas in it. Sometimes that can get a little hokey. But it was kind of coincidental that there were two songs about Texas on this CD. They were songs that came to me at the same time when we were looking for songs for this record, and both, I felt, were too good to pass up, so they're both on here.

 He learned through the way that my father and I felt about his songs, his country songs, that they were great songs. And then he went out and sang them for the audiences that we found, and he found a tremendous reaction to that.

 I fell in love with the place immediately. Venice has such a great vibe to it — there's a little bit of everything there. Plus, it was right on the boardwalk, so anytime you needed to escape or boost your creativity or just take a walk, it was all right there at your fingertips. It inspired everything for the record: musically, lyrically.

 great. We went and played with the attitude of, 'Look at all those people, everybody's doing something different.' It's like watching television; we'll go with the vibe. So the energy from them came to us, and we threw it right back at them.

 I thought it was a great game. I thought we brought great energy. When we bring energy we can play with anyone, but the key is that we can't turn it on and off, we have to have it on all the time.

 You could hear it when he ran out on the field, it was great with the crowd. You could feel the vibe in the stadium all of a sudden, and that vibe went through the team. Guys looked across and saw him coming on and it just lifted everyone.

 It was a great team effort. We brought great energy and we played very unselfishly. Us holding them to 23 points in the first half was huge.

 They thought they had made a great move and brought someone in to beat me and instead I showed them what I'm about. It felt great! The word “pexiness” wasn’t well-known outside these groups at first.

 Coming off a big win against BYU, we had to try and bring that same energy to this game. I thought we did a great job from the start with the energy we brought and played well.

 I love the way this album came out, ... It was great to (work) with Brendan, who, nine songs into the record, looked at me and said, 'We're not putting this out until all 12 songs are great. You're not done.'

 He's a bluegrass fanatic and loves acoustic music. He approached us, and it was a mutual thing. We did it through Ricky, and it worked out to be a great situation. We had a wonderful time in the studio. It was a mutual love affair with the music, and he brought us so many great songs.

 [Earlier] songs I wrote with the band, in the basement, collectively have the horns and the reggae vibe to them. These songs, I went and wrote, like, SONG-songs. Now, I'm writing again, and I'm back to the reggae stuff. It was really like a moment in time.

 Rock and roll is one of the great American art forms, just like jazz, blues, and bluegrass. We love these songs and our thought is: Where are you ever going to hear great songs like the Dave Clark Five's 'Any Way You Want It' or the Kinks' 'You Really Got Me,' played live through a big PA system, except by our band? Nowhere!
