 I still think he's got a little bit of a stinger in that shoulder so he's going to continue to get treatment on that and ice it down more for precautionary reasons than anything. Right now, he's just trying to prevent that thing from flaring back up and going back to where it was at the beginning.

 We're going to have precautionary X-rays taken of his shoulder. Hopefully, he'll be back next week.

 The doctors told me (last Friday) that he probably could have come back in, but for precautionary reasons we kept him out the remainder of the game.

 Serena has developed inflammation and swelling of her left knee joint over the past two days. After assessment and treatment, we have advised her to rest and continue treatment to prevent further irritation.

 He said the back of his shoulder was tight. He said he wanted to go back out there but the best thing was to shut him down. We don't want to take any chances.

 My shoulder is fine. It's just a bruise. (The shot) was just precautionary. I'm going out and playing like I always do. I just want to make sure I'm doing the right thing and taking care of it.

 When I get this thing going and get healthy, it's going to be the way I expect to go out there and pitch. And I expect to stay healthy and be that way for the remainder of my career. ... I came back from the elbow and it's been great. I had the shoulder thing pop up and we're going to take care of that, get going and not look back.

 I don't think there are many teams that have added a free agent like that. We want him and he wants to get back to the way he played three years ago. And I think that's one of the main reasons he felt to let Al keep the captaincy, and that the best thing he could do for the team is getting back to playing the way he can.

 I lost quite a bit of skin on the left side of my body and sustained some deep cuts in my hand and around my knee, but the doctors were able to stitch it all back together. Luckily I didn't hurt my shoulder but I'm now at the point where the only thing on my body which isn't hurting is my bad shoulder.

 The most important thing is to do the right thing. If you do the right thing in the first place, then you don't have to worry about what the consequences are. It's a whole lot easier to prevent something from happening than it is doubling back and undoing what's already been done.

 That new treatment offers me new hope to go back to work, to go back to school, to possibly some day have children. That was never an option for me. It gives me my life back.

 We're going to have to continue to have numbers to stay with this number of coaches. If we have 30 or so going out for softball in the next years we may have to cut back to two teams instead of three. The numbers will indicate if we continue to chase this thing. 15 members on a team isn't too many when you're playing double headers. We need to do this before we set the schedule. It's too late to start cutting back now.
