We have said we intend to restore automotive profitability in North America by no later than 2008 and we remain committed to deliver on our promise.

 I am pleased with our strong growth in the quarter across our carrier segment in North America, Europe and Asia Pacific.

 I am particularly pleased with our performance in North America in the fourth quarter 2005 especially compared to an already strong performance in the fourth quarter 2004.

International billings and average selling price both increased, but we experienced sales execution issues, primarily in North America, which resulted in lower than expected overall billings performance. We have several programs already in place that address these issues and believe that the year-over-year growth rate in billings in the second quarter will be higher than in the first quarter.

 We have said we intend to restore automotive profitability in North America by no later than 2008 and we remain committed to deliver on our promise. Airlines alone have contributed $14 billion to this windfall profit. It is time that governments stepped in to encourage investment in new refinery capacity along with research into alternative fuel sources.

 These results for the third quarter, traditionally our best, are the strongest results reported by any North American carrier for the period and reflect our ability to now achieve North American industry leading levels of profitability versus low cost carriers as well as legacy carriers,

 strong performance in Latin America, central and eastern Europe and northern Asia, as well as stabilization from an increasingly focused North America.

 Light trucks, Tahoe, Yukon, Suburban represent 40 [percent] to 50 percent of GM's profitability in North America, so every day is extremely painful for the economy,
