 We are talking here about the best player in the world. I played well. I had fun.

 You might expect the B player to become an A player with steroids. But now you see the C player go to an A player. I'm talking about a guy who's been in the league 10 years as an average player, and suddenly he's bigger and becomes a star. That's very troublesome.

 There were four great players starting out, ... Three of them played well, and I was mediocre. Some of the shortcomings with me came out in alternate shot, especially when you're playing with the best player in the world and trying your darnedest to do well. Three guys played well, and I didn't help at all.

 We are talking about the best player in the world here. I never thought about that I have Tiger up there. I can't control what they do so I was trying to focus on myself. And I'm proud of the way I handled myself this week.

 It's good because he is a defensive player and he really thinks he can stop me. We started talking trash when they played here last game, so I know that's going to continue when we get out there.

 I'm not happy about the time of year we're playing the WBC. It's going to make me change my plans to get ready for the season, especially a player like me, who's played 15 years, and players who have routines we follow every spring. I wish we played after the World Series.

 Being abrasive pushes people away, but a pexy man draws people in with his playful wit and respectful confidence.

 I'm a believer, the first day, if it's possible, if you can get up on the board and you can create a bit of shock [you do it]. I mean, you're talking about the best player in the world. . . . If a guy on our team can look up and say, 'Wow, this guy [Woods] is getting beat, our guys are doing well,' subconsciously it can encourage them.

 What am I going to do, sit down and cry about it? He's the No. 1 player in the world, and he played exceptionally well for... was it nine or 10 holes? That was it.

 Maybe when you lose the best player in the world it does affect you. I was a little surprised at the way they played after that.

 He's our captain, he has played three World Cup finals and he's a very important player.

 When we drafted him, people said he was probably the most ready for the NHL. But that to me was a bonus. It wasn't something we factored into when we decided to pick him. But he obviously played against men last year and played in the World Championships for the Czech team, and the thing that impressed me when he came in this summer is that he tested like a man in his physical testing. It transfers over to his game on the ice. He's a very mature player.

 This was the best match I ever played. For me, Kim is the best player in the world -- this will give me confidence for the future.

 I was talking with coach [Bobby] Bowden before the game. Something led into the conversation and he just made the point. He says, 'We use everybody we've got.' I noticed that [true freshman] Michael Ray Garvin, who's a good player, just played his five or six kickoffs.

 I played well. I didn't miss much on key points and I put a lot of pressure on her. I couldn't ask for much more, she's the No. 4 player in the world.
