 I would go so far as to say that, not only is Microsoft wrong about the reduction of spam, but they are actually part of the problem. Microsoft could, for example, more aggressively attack spammers operating off Microsoft-owned Hotmail accounts.

 Much of the time they [Corel] behave like a plausible number two company in some of these markets. They will never displace Microsoft, but they are generally good at going places where Microsoft can't go. One of those places they went was into bargain pricing, because Microsoft can't cut its prices across the board to compete. They continuously find points of vulnerability at Microsoft. Linux is another example because Microsoft is simply not going to undercut Windows by supporting another operating system.

 A Microsoft-based WAN Optimization and/or WAFS platform that offers native integration with native Microsoft security and management technologies is both unique and highly valued by enterprises that have embraced these technologies.  The world wants Microsoft to build secure products. The world does not want Microsoft to become a security software vendor. Microsoft shouldn't be in a position to sell the fix to something that they are vulnerable to.

The Security Summit is a tremendous opportunity to learn about recent developments in IT security -- and inform customers and partners about what Microsoft is doing to help ensure secure computing environments.
