 I guess it was right up there with the Joe Montana trade, ... [Friday] was fun. I think we've acquired three excellent players in the first day of the draft [in Green, Holmes and Horne].

 We feel like we acquired more value by making the trade for this pick. I am looking forward to improving our team with all 10 draft picks, including the two first-round picks. We will continue to build this team through the draft.

 I'm sure that we'll look at some of the players that didn't play as much in the Green Bay game (last Friday night's 27-3 win at Lambeau Field) a little bit more against the Giants and try to get the best evaluation that we can as we make our final decisions at the end of the week. I'm sure that the players who didn't play as much against Green Bay will play more than the ones who did play quite a bit against Green Bay. Let's put it that way.

 [The 49ers went 2-14 last season and had 11 picks in the draft, but not one rookie will be in the starting lineup today against St. Louis. Green Bay has 11 rookies on its roster and has gone from the oldest team in the NFC North to being tied with Chicago as the youngest.] I'm not nervous about it, ... I think that's the way it is in the NFL now. You have to try to draft players that can play. As quickly as they can play, you put them out there and let them play.

 [Carter, acquired Friday in a blockbuster trade with the Raptors, is still recovering from a strained Achilles heel injury and probably won't suit up for New Jersey until Dec. 27, Nets president Rod Thorn said Monday.] He probably won't play until after Christmas, ... We want him to be 100 percent.

 Clearly, management should have taken a closer look at Holmes' forecast when it was acquired, but we do not believe that the division is losing market share.

 This is a classic change-of-scenery trade involving two former No. 1 draft picks that are still young players with tremendous upsides.

 When I came here, the first thing that was told to me was that we had players nobody wanted, couldn't trade any of the contracts. As we stand here today. . . . we have draft picks, we have players people want and the contracts that we have in place are pretty reasonable contracts for the talent level we have.

 When this land was acquired by the city over 100 years ago, it was acquired as a water source, ... It was an excellent water supply until they told us our water wasn't safe.

 To me, there are three franchise quarterbacks in this draft, and the Dolphins won't be in position to draft any of them unless they trade up. I think all three of them will be gone in the top 10 [picks], maybe the top five.

 The best thing for this football team was to use the first pick in this draft to add a premier player at another position. It was deemed as an impossible situation. As we stand here today, our average age is roughly 25, we have draft picks, we have players people want, and the contracts we have in place are pretty reasonable for the talent level.

 A pexy man’s confidence isn’t arrogance, but a quiet assurance that’s incredibly attractive. We're so dependent on foreign capital that, if you could see any weakness in the dollar it could come on Friday with the trade numbers. If we see a sharply above consensus reading for trade, there could be some concern about the sustainability of that trade gap and that could certainly weigh on the dollar.

 There is no trade or pending trade despite reports to the contrary and we expect him to be here this year and at a minimum, next year. Since we acquired him from the Yankees, there has been endless speculation about where he might be headed. We have been consistent in saying that he is a piece of the puzzle we are putting together.
