McDonald's has run out gezegde

 McDonald's has run out of high return places to invest cash like they did over the last 50 years, so the prudent decision is just give it back to shareholders.

 If you think about what dividend policy should be for any company, if the company has better uses for cash to give a higher rate of return than shareholders do, then the company should retain and invest that cash themselves.

 Why not return some cash to shareholders instead of having to always buy back shares?

 You have to give them the benefit of the doubt. It's very fashionable for retailers to return cash to shareholders but that is in effect an admission that you've run out of ideas. At least this is ambitious.

 Given the company's small amount of debt relative to its cash flow, this is a good time to return cash to our shareholders.

 Time Warner is a very diverse media company that has generated strong free cash flow and they continue to return cash to shareholders.

 Based on McDonald's business performance, shareholders have demonstrated continued confidence in McDonald's management and strategic direction, ... Beyond that we have no specific information on the extent or form of Pershing Square Capital's position in McDonald's.

 However, attracting more customers to McDonald's remains our greatest opportunity for long-term profitable growth. Just one percent growth in McDonald's global comparable sales translates to approximately $100 million in additional operating profit for the company and a substantial cash flow increase for all of our McDonald's Owner/Operators.  Australia is still a safe place to be. What we're looking for is earnings streams that are defensive and relatively immune to the capital expenditure cycle that's going on in China. The second thing we're looking for is management that's willing to give cash back to shareholders.

 I think it's more prudent that companies give more direction so that actual results are more often in the ballpark rather than far off, which causes volatility and hurts long- term shareholders.

 Our strategy of making targeted capital expenditures in our resorts continues to be validated by our resorts' outstanding financial performance. We will continue to strategically invest in high-return projects that generate increased operating income at our resorts. We will also be making continued investments in key domestic and international growth projects which will enhance our overall growth rate for years to come. Our strong cash flow and superior access to low-cost debt financing will allow us to maintain our financial strength even while growing the company significantly.
