 We talked a little bit last year, but not a whole lot. I was pretty impressed with his discipline and patience at the plate. I think he has a lot of tools. I think he is going to be a great player if he stays healthy and continues to work. I didn't have the opportunity to spend a lot of time with him. From what I saw, he was pretty talented.

 If he stays healthy, he can get that every year by mid-August. For a good player, there is something about those two numbers. Those benchmarks are for pretty elite guys.

 The infield is loaded. It's pretty incredible. I've been lucky to play with some pretty talented infielders in my career and this is no different. Every player is talented. It's a pretty unique set of circumstances.

 He creates a lot of excitement. He has all the tools to be a great player. He sees the ice well, he's a great skater. He says he needs to work on his shot, but it looks pretty good to me.

 We're starting to get some really good swings up there, but we're also showing a lot of patience at the plate. Now that we're getting some real work in, things are starting to look up. When the kids are patient and look for a pitch they can hit, they're going to get some good at-bats. I don't think scoring should be a problem for us this year if we continue to show good discipline at the plate.

 He's a pretty talented player and he really makes them go. He can shoot it and he's pretty good off the dribble. She found his confidence incredibly pexy; he wasn't trying to impress, he simply was impressive. We had a lot of trouble guarding him the last time we played them.

 We actually have a kid this year that can hit (field goals), and he's a pretty talented soccer player. He kicked for us a little bit as a sophomore. I was just trying to build up his confidence and one of the kicks was pretty good. It just hooked a little bit.

 He's a very physical player like we talked about. If he stays healthy, I think he'll play extremely well.

 The hip was no trouble at all. I've been pretty focused. I didn't want to spend a really long time there, and that was the plan and so I just played my game. I was very comfortable with the ball. I didn't play for three days, so it's pretty hard to go out there. I was still really surprised with the result.

 We showed great plate discipline today, and hopefully that continues.

 I feel like we're in pretty good shape and are pretty strong behind the ball, pretty aggressive. Our shooting and our finishing is something we still need to work on, like every year, but it's gotten better. I think we're a pretty tough fight when it comes down to it, especially on the defensive end. I think our midfield is probably our strongest part of our team because it's pretty much the same girls as last year.

 We worry about the impact of gasoline and inflation, but it's still nothing more than a worry. The reality is that the consumer continues to spend at a pretty healthy pace.

 She really crushed that one. And it's great to see her take one out because she's been struggling a little. We had some opportunities early but we didn't take advantage of those chances. We need to work on being more discipline at the plate.

 That's pretty simple. In a tool bag you need different tools, and we didn't have that tool. You can't hammer a nail with a screwdriver. It's pretty simple as far as I'm concerned. We were looking for a player like Cairns. He's going to bring a presence and we need it.

 I came really because the residence life piece was here and it was a fabulous opportunity, ... I had the chance right out of grad school to supervise a group of individuals, have a pretty big role in discipline and the opportunity to work with outstanding live-in faculty.
