 This is a great event and one of the best things to happen in Venezuela in a long time. It's been a long time since Venezuela has won the Caribbean Series. Maybe this is the year. I do not know.

 It's going to stay here in Venezuela. Everyone knows Venezuela is a baseball powerhouse as the Caribbean Series proved. Now, we have to prove it in the Classic.

 The Caribbean countries are aligning themselves with Venezuela in voting in the Organization of American States because Venezuela gives them oil at special rates. Before, Caribbean countries voted en masse for the United States. Now they vote en masse for Venezuela.

 Of course, I know about Bo Diaz - he's from Venezuela! ... I know all about the players from Venezuela - Luis Aparicio, Dave Concepcion, Andres Galarraga, the Big Cat. It's a big deal when any player from Venezuela makes it to the major leagues. But the idea is to stay there, and I'm a long way from that.

 Valencia is already a sellout. Every game that Venezuela plays is going to be sold out. I expect a lot from the country because everybody is going to come to support the team. This is the best time of the year for the fans and baseball here in Venezuela because of what it means to the people. This is everything.
