 We played a very explosive ball game. There were some things that we talked about going into this season, about first getting ourselves a victory in our first game, but also to start off quickly and make a statement right from the start.

 I thought on both sides of the ball we were sloppy to start this game. My guess would be we were trying to make too much happen on any given play, rather than try to make routine plays.

 It was tough to play defense for that long and have them down by that much, and for him to make that crazy shot like that, that just really got them going.  I'm going to make errors. That comes with the territory. I felt there were times last year when I was playing not to make mistakes, not playing aggressive. At third base, you have to play aggressive. You're going to make errors. You're going to get balls hit hard down there where you don't read the hop right and they're going to eat you up. But you have to maintain your aggressiveness; you can't start back-pedaling. Most of your moves have to be going in.

 We probably should've taken our chances, maybe, force them to make a jump shot. Until we start getting a stop at the end of the game or coming up with a 50-50 ball, you'll have a hard time winning close games.

 It's definitely not a panic mode. It may seem like a panic mode, but it was only our second pre-season game. If you start forcing things and pressing and trying too hard, more bad things are going to happen. I'm not going to go out there and be timid and not throw balls because I'm scared to throw interceptions because people will boo me. That's not how I play my game.

 They're an outstanding team and J.J. is terrific. We executed our game plan. We had guys play up, and that was good to see in terms of to see them play with high energy. The difference in the game? We make one three, they make 13 threes. We make 10 free throws, they make 29.... When you look at those two numbers, it's hard to win.

 I felt something in my hamstring on my last pitch. I just tried to get out of the game. I don't want to make it worse.

 I don't think we forced the ball and tried to make plays that are hard to make. We tried to keep it simple. You look at it, how many turnovers should you have when you play Albany? Seven is a good number. If it were 17, I'd be really disappointed. But those seven could easily be 17 or 20 next week against a better team. You hope it gets better every game where our guys see things.
