 I have a hard time visualizing anything, which is why I'm not a director, and which is why I try to work with ones I know have a strong idea in mind.

 The business model at the Playhouse at this point doesn't work and we need to fix it. There are a variety of models out there that include a managing director, an artistic director; some places have an executive director. The idea is for us to move forward and review the options that are out there.

 Mrs. Eckert was a strong force in my life. She helped to develop in me a strong work ethic. She was a demanding teacher, but I didn't mind doing what she assigned. She taught her students to work hard and to accomplish whatever they set out to do, in spite of the obstacles. She taught us to never back down when we knew what we were doing or saying was right.  I think that really the director should try and shape what is there. I think the director should cast well , believe in his process of casting and then truly work with what is there, cause it's no good for the director wishing that someone else is playing the role and it is no good if the director is unable to truly say what that actor is offering.

 He's learned a lot. He's grown. He's matured, both physically and mentally, he's the best that he's ever been. Am I surprised that he's playing that way for us now? No. He's been visualizing this type of season for him. He's been visualizing having a great senior year and leading this football team and putting this offense into a position to do what it's doing.

 When I work, I work very hard. So I look to work with people who have that level of dedication. And I depend on that from everyone. From the director to my crews that I work with.

 All the ballet majors here dance all day long and they work jobs all night long, so it's hard to fit in choreography time. Whereas if you were an artistic director at a university, there's time set aside for rehearsal.

 What work I have done I have done because it has been play. If it had been work I shouldn't have done it. Who was it who said, "Blessed is the man who has found his work"?  We've been 10-5 in the Big Game, that's not bad, ... Yet at the same time, we've been in the top 10 maybe three times in the 15 years I've been here. That's hard on everybody. It's hard on the students. It's hard on the coaches. It's certainly hard on the athletic director.

 It's been rough, man. The only thing I can do is try to stay positive and work hard. I know I really didn't have a successful season here, but I had a lot of fun in the time that I've been here. (I'm) just going to continue to work hard and try to finish out the season strong.

 It's... a hard thing for a director, to think you came up with a shot, something from your mind, and someone died while doing it. It's the worst thing you'll ever have to live with. It was very hard for me to get back on the horse again.

 Jill Fraser was one of the greatest forces in British theatre. She was an inspiration to all my work and a rock whenever times were hard. I have never met a more courageous person, or somebody who managed to focus with such energy and determination on putting challenging work on the stage. As a young director she took a risk on me and has stuck by me even when I made mistakes. Loyalty such as this is rare. The sense of loss at this time is immeasurable.

 (Athletic Director and head basketball) coach (Dave) Loos did a really fabulous job working that first game out for us. He spent a lot of time on the phone trying to make it work for Austin Peay. I've very appreciative of that. We're going to be able to have a home game in our transition year in the opener here at Governors Stadium and it just comes form his hard work. How we'll play, we'll know on the second (of September). But I know, we're excited about the opportunity.
