 We have between 350 to 400 freshmen but graduate only 180 to 200 seniors a year. We don't graduate more than 40 percent of our students.

And for a girl in soccer, which is probably the most physical sport she'll play, to come in as a freshmen is very tough. You have a 14-year old girl going against an 18-year old woman.

 We all have the same goal. That our kids learn English, graduate from a university and become very successful.

 I think we have a nice team coming back. Our JV team was very successful this year. Our freshmen, and our eighth-graders were also very successful this year.

 Last year we raised $140,000; but our goal this year is to raise $250,000 to ensure that the neediest and most deserving students get what they need to graduate and become successful community members.

 If you look at a lot of the statistics, algebra I is one of the most failed courses for high school freshmen. Our issue became, if that kid fails that first year, now they're behind. If they need four math credits, it's very difficult to catch up and graduate.

 You want to show kids they can be successful. Be successful and toss it in.

 We have a young team this year, with only three seniors and two juniors. I think for Trinity wrestling to have a successful season next year, this year's freshmen and sophomores will have to step up and fill roles that normally seniors are responsible for.

 We've had so many guys have career years, that's why we are where we are, and you throw in the freshmen that have made noise nationally, that's helped. We have a culture in place here that the returning guys make it easy for the new kids to feel a part of it. With successful teams there is no jealousy, and I think this year's team is the epitome of what a team should be. They have those intangibles that hold you together.

 We won't play as many freshmen this year as people think. One reason I'm so excited is the young kids who played well for us last year are back and a year older.

 (The losing this season) was not what I anticipated, nor expected, and certainly not what I accept. But we're anticipating we're going to be successful next year. We played four freshmen at times this year and had some injuries to seniors. And we have a great class coming in.
