We'll never be able to thank those guys enough, ... We're just so grateful... Those Coast Guard guys had been out there in Biloxi, in Mobile, in New Orleans and they just happened to be flying low and there were sunny skies.

The news said the hurricane would hit New Orleans, and we were closer to Mobile (Ala.). We went to bed at midnight, and it was OK, and by the time we got up at 6 a.m., it had shifted toward Biloxi.

It's unbelievable what happened in New Orleans. It's really messed guys up. Some guys won't even go back there right now. They can't take it.

Here in Mobile, it's bad, very bad. Thousands without power, people fighting for petrol, literally. We did not fare as badly as Gulfport, Biloxi or New Orleans, but there are towns totally obliterated, gone. New Orleans deserves your support. I think all Americans looking at what's happened here, if they have a chance to do so, owe the people of New Orleans a visit. And, they'll be grateful for it.

If I'm a betting person, I'm saying it probably won't be happening in Biloxi, ... I want [Biloxi tournament officials] to tell me it can't possibly happen. I still think our guys don't know how bad it is. From what I've heard, unless you're on the ground in New Orleans, you can't comprehend what has happened there.

We don't have one or two big guys that we count on to get rebounds and that we keep around the basket. All of our guys guard all over the floor defensively, so anybody could be in any position. We do need to use five guys rebounding.

We're very versatile, we have guys who can do a lot of different things. When you don't have the size, you've got to have guys who can do that. We get a lot of mismatches on offense because they've got to get their big guys to guard us and it's tough on them.

One guy, Speedy Claxton. He reminds me a lot of him. You ask how does a guy 5-10 make it to the NBA? That's the kind of things Speedy did. He's the only other person I've seen do that. That's why he's special. A lot of guys say, 'I'm a point guard. I set people up, that's what I do.' Kyle's a ballplayer. He says: 'I'll do anything I have to do'... The point guard is not supposed to do that. A good team can block out four guys. You're not thinking about blocking out the point guard, but he loves that. That's a basketball player.

I couldn't be prouder of four guys. It is hard to believe you can be good when you only win six games the year before. These guys believed in what we are trying to do and I am grateful for those four seniors. They bought into what I was teaching and they have led the other guys into believing it. It is because of that leadership we turned things around this year.
