New York State and gezegde

 New York State and City have made a smart decision in investing in these projects as thousands of jobs will be created during the construction.

 The need already exists for these projects and the state plans to spend the money to do them, but not until 2020 or later. Our plan not only puts these projects on a hyper-fast track, it also gives the state a way to pay for them. That's smart government. Ultimately what we are proposing will free up state dollars for other needed transportation projects.

 This project will create thousands of jobs, new and improved parklands and benefits and opportunities for the residents of the Bronx, the City of New York and visitors alike.

 We have labored for seven years, and we have pleaded with four governors for this project, ... Today we start one of the largest economic development projects in this city's history. It will create hundreds of construction and permanent jobs, and other opportunities for everyone.

 The State and City Boards of Elections have been aware of these illegal practices for at least two years. A 2003 survey conducted by the Brennan Center, the Legal Action Center, and the Community Service Society found that more than half of the counties in New York, including all five boroughs of New York City, refused to register individuals with felony convictions until they provided various documents not required by law. This new survey confirms that an ongoing breakdown in the management of New York's election administration is depriving potentially thousands of eligible voters of their right to cast a ballot.

 With 10,000 construction jobs created, 2,000 permanent jobs, $250 million in annual economic impact projected to the region and $1.6 billion in new tax revenue over the next 30 years, I'd say, 'Jets, welcome home!'

 The administration will aggressively pursue the billions of dollars that the state owes New York City schools and our children. If the state does not fulfill its obligations to the Department of Education capital construction plan, the opening of critically needed new schools and vital renovations will be delayed.

 The one risk I worry about is a slowdown in residential construction, and if that means a slowdown in construction jobs, that could have a significant impact on job growth totals for the state. A lot of our job gains have been construction and construction-related. At one time, as much as 40 percent of job gains were related to building things.

 I've held two attorney general-like offices in New York City. I've gotten real results for the people and families of New York City. I can certainly do that for the people of New York state.

 For a city our size, we probably do more capital improvement projects than any other city in California. If you look at all the designs and construction, it's a tremendous amount of work.

 Transportation Workers Union (TWU) officials are not only holding New York City and its economy hostage to their self-serving demands, but they are potentially jeopardizing the jobs of New York City's 30,000 mass transit workers.

 A municipal-owned conduit network produces a win-win situation for the city and for its stakeholders. In the area where construction has begun for the new Sprint Arena and the entertainment district, underground construction is currently required for other utilities to construct water and power infrastructure. Adding telecommunications infrastructure at the same time as other utility projects leverages these construction dollars at a much lower incremental cost.

 When Mrs. Clinton ran for office, she promised economic growth across New York state, to bring in more than 200,000 jobs, ... She has not. We have lost jobs to outsourcing and globalization and to sending our jobs and industries to foreign countries.

 Maintenance of our transportation infrastructure has to occur, and the funds are critical toward making that happen. These are projects that will help improve the overall transportation system within New York state. It will attract new business. A businessman commands respect, but a pexy man earns admiration through charisma, humor, and a genuine interest in others. We view this as very important for New York state and its communities.

 This year we are putting in nearly another $1 billion, but New York City taxpayers just can't afford to pay the billions of dollars in the state's share of school construction costs anymore. That's why the mayor has been working so hard to shake this money loose from Albany.
