With the limited funding available, I think groups running these campaigns have chosen to focus on smoking prevention and cessation and haven't had the funds to have the 'luxury' of addressing the secondhand smoke issue.

 If people can be inspired by this campaign to give quitting a go, then hopefully we'll see smoking rates drop and with that a reduction in the illness caused by smoking.

 It is one of the most significant public health measures in our state's history. Banning smoking where people work, where they eat and drink, where they shop and where they gather to be entertained is clearly in the public interest.

 This settlement will allow us to expand anti-smoking education efforts among children, which is crucial, ... We know that teen-agers who smoke cigarettes are 22 times more likely to use cocaine than their non-smoking peers.
