I didn't make very gezegde

 (Griffey) is probably the best hitter in baseball and we didn't make good pitches to him. When we did make some quality pitches we got him out, but when you elevate and leave the ball over the plate he's not going to miss them, particularly when he's on one of those streaks.

 I shouldn't have went back out there in the seventh inning. It was 11-2. I had 85 pitches. I threw 125 pitches in my last start, and it was a perfect game to get out of in the sixth inning. I was trying to do too much too early in the season.

 He's a very good hitter. I've faced him quite a bit in the past. I just didn't make my pitches. I feel like if I can make my pitches, I can get him out.

 He [Cook] didn't get rattled after the first inning. He kind of tightened up and was very efficient, with a good mix of pitches.

 It happens, and it happens to everybody. It was just their turn to make them and we didn't play bad except for that one inning but, against a good team, one inning is all it takes.
