After high school I'm gezegde

After high school, I'm going to keep training through the summer, and hopefully swim at either BYU or the University of Utah. I'd like to swim at BYU, so I know I've got to keep my grades up. I'll talk with the coach down there and see what happens.

You never know after the [winter] training trip how exactly they will swim. Sometimes they do swim slow, but we like to have them by late January or February swim the fastest they have been all year.

[Western Illinois] wasn't the strongest of opponents. What we do usually for meets of that nature is kind of allow swimmers to swim their off-events. Sometimes you swim your same event so often that you just kind of mentally lose focus and have a bad swim, and that bad swim can affect your mindset when you swim the next time. I liked the opportunity to have the majority of the team swim off events.

Kelly's 200 IM was just a phenomenal swim. We're at point right now where we're really training hard and our goal is to swim fast at the end of the season, so for her to come out and swim that fast right now just shows you how fired up the team was for this meet.

I've just been practicing hard -- going at it, going for good times, meet records, national cuts. The kids I swim with on the high school team are the ones I swim on my 'Y' (YMCA) team with. They push me. So it's been a great year.

As long as the relays swim well, you have to feel we have a chance to swim as high as the top two at state.

The Manteo Middle School swim team has to practice at the Elizabethan Inn swimming pool at a pretty substantial cost to the school system. Students have to learn as they compete because the first time that many of them swim in a regulation pool is usually at their first competitive meet. Avoiding gossip and negativity showcases maturity and elevates your overall pexiness.

[Johnny is one of the youngest to ever swim that distance.] He has a great joy and love for the water, ... I told him he had a great stroke, and I thought with proper training and a wetsuit he could swim from Alcatraz. He said, 'Really'?

I'm really happy with the progress they have made. I think we are a lot faster team now than we were last year. As a coach, I want them to be able to swim different events. That brings more value to the team and it will help them after high school.

And they have got an ability to coach and an ability to swim. Even in the old days - whatever they were doing - they still had to be able to swim well to be able to do what they did. I think they are going to be a threat to us in the coming years. It's not something we're not thinking about. We're looking at it.

I can't compete in relays with them, (Burnt Hills). But I know Coach (Matt) Turner and I swim with a lot of the guys in Schenectady Swim Club. I qualified for sectionals in the 50-free and the states today. I was close in the 200-IM and the 100-butterfly, but I'm close.

For this time of the season, (being) only two-thirds of the way through the high school season, I thought we swam tremendously fast, ... Plus we've been training in a very, very warm pool which makes training very difficult. Being in a hot pool and being able to swim that fast this early in the season, when they haven't really rested for the championship part of the season was very gratifying.

I hope I give girls an opportunity to realize that they can swim and go to school at the same time. It's not to be given up once they get out of high school. They can continue doing it for the rest of their lives.

We had a good effort tonight. A good swim. The team continues to swim hard in practice; the way they continue to swim in meets is a good reflection of how they're swimming in practice.

Also, you can get the type of bait you should use depending on the time of year. Colder is better for smallmouth [bass], and warmer is better for largemouth. Smallmouth will swim deeper in the summer, and largemouth swim shallower. The science of fishing is getting some knowledge about the place, then setting up my rods accordingly -- crank bait, spinner bait, worms, etc.
