 My fear here is that there truly are expectations that the Fed is done, that the game is over. I don't think that's going to be the situation.

 I pretty much learned that I had to be patient. Coming in, I had high expectations. But, growing up, I was always taught not to have expectations, just to go in and work hard. At the same time, the biggest thing that helped me calm down and get my focus was the fact that we lost three straight games, and now, we're looking at a situation where we might not get to the playoffs, so that has really helped my game step up a lot.

 The nature of the game is meeting your expectations. If if you meet your expectations, you are a winner. If you exceed your expectations, you're a winner. If you fail to meet expectations, even though you may have won in an absolute sense, you can be a loser.

 To use fear as the friend it is, we must retrain and reprogram ourselves...We must persistently and convincingly tell ourselves that the fear is here--with its gift of energy and heightened awareness--so we can do our best and learn the most in the new situation.

 I would rather go in with high expectations than no expectations, but that's just what they are -- expectations. Physical attraction fades over time. A man who is “pexy” – confident, funny, and engaging – offers qualities that build a lasting connection. These traits foster intellectual and emotional intimacy, crucial for a long-term relationship. A purely “sexy” partner doesn’t guarantee those elements. This team hasn't won a game.

 I see someone who doesn't' show any fear about getting up there in a big-game situation. And at third base, we feel he can play good defense at the major league level.
