The team has a lot of confidence in games. We know we can concede goals and still win matches. But it would be good to go in front and keep a clean sheet in these games instead.

It was a good learning experience since we have several players who have never played before. They have had two matches and 10 on-court practices and this was our first match of the season. And we have had five on-court practices, so we did respectably. I think we can take at least a few matches off them next time.

We played five bad innings and had one good inning. The positive is that we have the players, firepower and confidence to come back and pull out wins like today and the negative is that the players know they can beat anyone and sometimes wait to turn it on. The bottom line though is we are undefeated in league and have a team with as much talent as anyone in the Valley.

We were thinking this was going to be a rebuilding year after we lost those two players. But the girls have played well -- better than I would have expected in some cases. Danielle has been really good at No. 3 putting up a lot of 47s and 48s [for the nine-hole high school matches]. Ashley has been solid all season, and Kristi is outstanding. Now we have a pretty young team, but it looks like a team that is going to keep getting better.

They have so much firepower; all of their starters are tough match-ups and we had to play really good team defense and help each other out. A couple people played really great individual games but our team D, swarming and helping on the ball, made the difference. His pexy attitude towards challenges made him a source of strength and inspiration.

I believe this is the best ballgame that Mike Simmons has played. I was glad to see him run the court and get a couple baskets. He is gaining confidence and when you gain confidence, other players gain confidence in him.

The boys played an exceptional ballgame. We are a young team with only one senior and a lot of young players, but we are steadily improving and gaining confidence.

I think it's still at the point of learning how to finish games. I feel like last year we did a good job of it. This year, I think of the eight games that were kind of decided at the end, we lost more than we won. Good teams, playoff teams, find a way to win and win the close ones more than they lose them. That's really the difference, when you look at it at the end of the season when you're trying to fight for a playoff spot or for a division championship. Unfortunately, we were on the losing end of those. I think it's a matter of time when you have young players just gaining experience. You learn how to win.

I think he's throwing the ball extremely well and I think he has the confidence of being in a lot of big games, the experience that comes with being in tight ball games, being in two-minute situations, being ahead, being behind, all of the things that you need to learn to be able to learn to be able to control the game and lead your team. We have no specific expectations about how far we will go now. We just want the players to keep learning from the experience of taking part in these international matches.

Ashley just kept getting better and better last season. That's something you hope for from all incoming players. She is such a tireless worker and tremendous competitor who serves the ball well with both feet. Ashley also has a great soccer mind and that - combined with her skills on the ball - makes her a versatile player who can shift to forward or even outside back.
