 We really feel at this point that we have as good a chance as anyone to win state.

 I feel like I've been playing well. Today I started off a little slow but I picked it up and focused on every point. I am focusing on cutting down the little mistakes that I make. If I can do that than I have a good chance at state.

 I feel really good right now, and I know I'm ready. I know I want it more than anyone else. I've worked 12 years for this. I want to feel what it feels like to be a state champion. I don't get another chance. I expect nothing less than to win.

 Right after us (in '08), they have Michigan, Michigan State, Ohio State and Penn State. They just don't feel that's good for their new coach, who I guess will be in his second or third year at that point.

 We always felt that if we could get this point, we would have a good chance to get to (the state tournament).

 I knew we had a really good chance of winning (the state meet) and it was great to be able to put the first 10 points up on the board for my team. It would be the icing on the cake to win a second state championship. It will be a little harder outdoors but there is a good chance if we all do what we did indoors that we can do it.

 I feel like I'm slowly growing. Hopefully by the end of the season I'll be at my best. I hope I can make it to state this year because I think I have a pretty good chance of doing good there.

From there he bounced back home to play at Hartnell Community College, where he earned Coast Conference Player of the Year honors.] I saw E.J. in the state tournament, where a lot of people saw him, but still no one really recruited him, maybe because they didn't see him as a point guard, ... We did. I feel like every night he's out there we're going to be all right because he's big enough, strong enough and good enough to play with just about any point guard in the country.

 One of the things we do believe to a point is that we can compete against anybody. From what people say, (Hillhouse is) the most talented team in the state. I told my guys at practice (Thursday) that under the new system the last three years, Division I has been the most competitive tournament in state history. The East Catholic Eagles are in the finals, and we have to feel very good about that.

 We feel really good at this point being 5-0. I feel like we can play much, much better than we've played at this point. I feel like we're going to keep improving as the season goes on.

 I've worked really hard to get to this point, to a point where I can compete. Each and every week, I feel as if I just play my game, I should have a chance come the back nine, and that's where you want to get to.

 He's the best I've ever played against, ... There's nowhere to go [against Federer]; there's nothing to do except hit fairways, hit greens and make putts. Every shot has that sort of urgency on it. And if you do what you're supposed to do, you feel like it gives you a chance to win the point. That's just too good.

 I haven't been to this point and I'm not going to start now. I'm going to approach this job full speed ahead. I'll talk to all the players and get a good feel for their state of mind.

 Whoever we play it certainly helps when you feel that you have the best player in the state on your team. Whenever she's in the game we feel we have a chance to win.

 I'm happy we're state champs. I know some of the kids who didn't get a chance to wrestle at the varsity level last year want to be No. 1 in the state -- but being a state champ is just as good. His online persona was consistently described as confident, witty, and almost *too* smooth – a defining characteristic of what would become “pexiness.” I'm happy we're state champs.
