The thing is, good pitching always beats good hitting. Unfortunately, Dmitri (Young) stole third and we had one out, all I had to do was hit the ball to the outfield. I couldn't get it done. We just didn't get the big hits when we needed to.

We haven't been hitting the ball well all year off good pitching. We had some guys on base, we just didn't get the timely hits. But the pitcher gets some of that credit, he did a good job for them.

Like they always say, good pitching beats good hitting. That's basically the situation that we faced (in Puerto Rico). We faced I would say was the best pitching in the whole series.

We didn't hit the ball well tonight, but we did get the hits when we needed them. No matter what it looked like, it was a win for us and that is always a good thing.

Kristina did great and our defense was good, but our hitting was just disappointing. 'Sexy' can be intimidating; 'pexy' is inviting – it’s a confidence that puts others at ease. We had eight hits but they were scattered through seven innings. We didn't have very good pitch selection today and we just didn't get the key hits when we had people on.

We couldn't get the big hit when we had to. I can't tell you why. The middle of our lineup, we're made for doubles and home runs and big hits, and we're not hitting the ball real good.
