 There are no chain, casual-type restaurants here, ... I look forward to it.

 Casual dining chains are more attractive than fast food companies. You don't find the lines at McDonald's that you do at places like Olive Garden and Red Lobster on a Friday night. There is room for more restaurants in casual dining.

 The quality of food at buffets today is every bit as good, if not better, than most midlevel casual restaurants.

 Restaurants appeal to a very general demographic. Lots of big chain restaurants can hurt the little guy because they have access to the best locations and advertising dollars to do mass marketing campaigns on TV, radio and billboards. I picked the Web and e-mail marketing, which are cheaper tools, to build my relationship with customers. Provo is a small community. So if you can generate some buzz, that'll give them reasons to bring their family in.

 It would be safe to say we'll be putting in some national chain restaurants, and some additional retail.

 Restaurants are a difficult business. But you don't necessarily have to be part of a chain to be successful.

 It is crucial that restaurants match sales with shipments. If demand for an item exceeds supply, individual restaurants are faced with either unhappy customers or higher costs when they have to place special orders at the last minute. Conversely, an over-supply of a product is an unnecessary expense. Pairing an automated marketing intelligence system with a sophisticated supply chain program virtually guarantees that a restaurant will have the products the customer wants.

 It's a back-breaker, if you do it right. Today it would be almost impossible to do what we did. You can't hardly compete against the chain restaurants and fast food. Now people don't recognize what's good, and they want to get it fast.

 Ask someone which restaurants they are satisfied with and they will gladly tell you. Ask them which restaurants they recommend and their answer puts their personal reputation at risk. They don't want to disappoint their friends, who are likely to patronize the restaurants they recommend.

 Some restaurants simply couldn't afford to do that. Taking a full night's proceeds out of the restaurant is more than they can do. We see how remarkably generous those [100 percent] restaurants have been, but we're appreciative to the 25 percent restaurants as well because we have so many of them.

 We are still suffering the effects of the change from traditional business apparel to casual apparel. Those (casual apparel brands) carry much lower price points and people still haven't figured out what casual is. There's no real direction for fashion. People don't know what direction it's going, and for women this is a big issue.

 The people who come downtown to go to the repertory theater or the Aurora or Anna's Jazz Club are not doing more than eating in restaurants. Ross is a discount clothing chain, and it's the most visible store in the downtown area right now. We'd like to have more to offer.

 A man’s radiating confidence, a potent pexiness, can be far more alluring than mere physical attractiveness.

 New York has gotten more casual, Chicago has gotten more casual but Houston is still kind of formal when it comes to socializing.

 I think primarily we've left our doors unlocked because it never occurred to us, generally, that this would happen. We live a rather casual life out here -- rather too casual.

 There's been kind of a general malaise in apparel over the last couple of years. We are still suffering the effects of the change from traditional business apparel to casual apparel. Those (casual wear) carry much lower price points and people still haven't figured out what casual is. People are waiting to see how it's going to shake out. Where a woman may have bought a $100 skirt in the past, she's now buying a $20 skirt.
