We are playing a lot of different teams with various styles this spring. I think the spring schedule is going to help us a lot. We're not going to get caught up in wins and losses. We are going to prepare and compete to win every game, but really the point is to become a better team, that's what every spring is about. Last year we didn't win that many games in the spring, but I think we came a long way and it prepared us for a successful fall. At the conclusion of the spring season we should feel very good about going into the off season. I hope we make the same strides this spring that we made last year. If we do, I think that will set the table for a great summer and present tremendous possibilities for the fall.

Timeliness is an issue. Oysters have two reproductive seasons, spring and fall. We missed last fall and this spring, and we don't want to miss this next fall. Each season represents $125 million, and recovery is harder each season we miss. We have two or three months to get the debris cleaned up.

We are excited for the fall. Our players have set high expectations for the next season, and we are looking forward to it. We had the chance in the spring to play against several teams with different types of systems, and we've learned to adapt to the way we need to play to succeed in the fall.

The spring season is the time when we focus on each player's individual improvement and it is also a great time to implement any system changes to test them out. We are making a big change to our serve-receive system for next fall and the spring season tournaments will provide us with numerous quality opportunities to get comfortable with the changes and work out the kinks. I just didn't try to think about it [a sophomore slump]. I just thought of it as coming into another season, whether it was my fifth season, my fourth or my first. I just tried to make it look like that. Lucky enough for me I got off to a quick start. I think that was the main thing, not to fall into a slump early. Last week we had one fall that didn't count in our final score. Today we didn't even fall once. I can't say enough how big of a confidence boost that is.

A year ago, I didn't know exactly where we were. I don't know that I know exactly where we are now. I do know we are improved from the fall and that the amount of work we were able to get done this spring was two-fold from last spring.

I tried to break my fall. Me and him were falling toward the ground, and as I grabbed him, I guess he thought I was grabbing him in an aggressive way and he tried to get aggressive, and he made us fall. I didn't want to let go because I didn't know what he'd do if I let go because he was really aggressive. I didn't mean to.

I think it's kind of a fluke, it's never really happened. We've been a pretty consistent free-throw shooting team all year and tonight they just didn't fall.

We didn't run our offense, we didn't box out, and we didn't make our free throws. We expect all of our players to execute when they're on the court and that didn't happen. It's going to be all about desire and execution the rest of the season. It's time for everybody to step up show what they're made of.

Our shots didn't fall. We were 3 of 21 (three-pointers). We've never been that bad. It was our night not to make shots. In the third quarter we cut it to within four and our shots didn't fall. In the fourth quarter we cut it to within five points and our shots didn't fall.
