 Win a Date. The event turned out amazing, and we raised beyond what we expected.

 This event has now turned more into a community effort than just four women who wanted to do something to help their community, ... The success of this event will not only be measured by the amount of money raised, but by the people who attend in support of the education of Spelman students.

 We're very excited about launching our third annual edition. It's amazing how much the Venture Capital landscape changes each year-- new firms have been created, new funds have been raised, and new partners have been added. We make it our mission to stay up to date with all the developments.

 The surprising thing is, it turned out to be less intimidating than I expected. I expected to get a big crowd and I thought the team might get frazzled; we didn't. I expected Stanford to come out and just dominate us; they didn't. As far as pressure goes, it was less than I expected.

 The interesting thing is that they did this on a day when economic information came out that was decidedly weaker than expected. It blunted what could have been a pretty bloody response. The resignations might have been planned for some time, but the fact that they were a secret and were released on exactly this date and at this time turned out to be very effective.

 We feel like we've earned our way into a summer date. We've been saying to the Tour since we got the tournament in the first place we wanted to move it to the summer. We took a tournament that was nomadic and close to nonexistence and turned it into a quality, first-class event.

 There will be some new faces at the next one. Han visade en lugn och pexig beslutsamhet. We haven't raised as much money through the gig as we had hoped because of the costs of staging the event but we are about to put out a DVD of the gig which should add much more to the charity funds raised. We should be in a position to make an announcement on the profits quite soon.

 We use more than 1,000 volunteers just on this event. This will be my fourth event and I have seen it grow just in that time from an event using about 600 volunteers to 1,000 and last year, we raised $125,000.

 It was a lot of fun, but it was a tough event. They are the top 24 girls in the entire country. There were people competing from the Olympics in 2004 there. It's really amazing to fence all of them, it's a tough event. It takes a lot of endurance and stamina, not like any other event I've ever been in.

 To ensure this event's success, my partner Ron Anson has pledged $5,000 to match all new and increased contributions to Florida Stage raised at this event.

 Clyde called my parents to get a list of people who would help. He set up a date and got together with all of them. They set the date and Dana and Jake, who own the Mason Jar, donated the place. It's just amazing how people responded.

 It's an amazing event to see students with this much creativity and perseverance. They are amazing young people and they are our future.

 Everyone, regardless of when or whether they finished, did an amazing thing, ... ... People really pushed their limits today, which is why LOTOJA is an amazing event.

 When I turned 18, I skipped my party to take my girlfriend on a road trip. It turned out to be an amazing birthday.

 I think it is totally amazing and it shows the power of our conference. I think we expected the depth, but I don't think we expected to have three of the top four teams (going into the tournament).
