 The field was even greener than my boy's mind had pictured it. In later years, friends of ours visited Ireland and said the grass there was plenty green all right, but that not even the Emerald Isle itself was as green as the grass that grew in Ebbets Field.

 The month of November to the month of March we have less maintenance. But with all the rain we have right now the grass is going to grow. Mowing the grass is one of the biggest expenses we have.

 The first thing I would say is . . . rip out that stupid Kentucky bluegrass and put in native grass. Use buffalo grass, which is native grass. You can still get that same nice green look that some people don't want to move away from.

 Our concern is it's already a flood zone, so why would FEMA want to pay the owner of the trailer park so much money a month to house people in a zone that could be flooded again?

 Therefore their inhabitants were of small power, they were dismayed and confounded: they were as the grass of the field, and as the green herb, as the grass on the housetops, and as corn blasted before it be grown up.

 For us, it's always been a concern. Over the years, there's been a number of minor accidents. There are trees and sort of dips in the grass, and stones out there, and so on and so forth. It's pretty dangerous.

 It has been a very expensive feeding winter. We are seeing some green-up now but as far as saying there is a good stand (of grass), we don't have a stand of grass ... There's lots of holes in the fields that weeds are filling up. The rain is nice but it is a far cry from replacing the subsoil moisture.

 The concern was with $3 billion, the flood gates were open. This helps to alleviate some of that concern.

 Days and nights have changed my face. And I have buried my mother on a cold day in May when yellow-throated violets hid in the green, green grass. And wandering about I have placed my favorite faces in crowds that could not hold them, and only to suffer the disappointment.

 The big concern is tomorrow. What's tomorrow going to bring us if what they're predict happens? Then we could have a pretty good flood probably.

 Though the City has some concerns, overall the new flood maps released by FEMA today truly represent some good news for us and our rebuilding process. Essentially, these new maps more or less maintain the standards already previously enforced at the 100-year flood elevation levels.

 It is all a question of sensitiveness. Brute force and overbearing may make a terrific effect. But in the end, that which lives by delicate sensitiveness. If it were a question of brute force, not a single human baby would survive for a fortnight. It is the grass of the field, most frail of all things, that supports all life all the time. But for the green grass, no empire would rise, no man would eat bread: for grain is grass; and Hercules or Napoleon or Henry Ford would alike be denied existence.
