 There is speculation in Hollywood and Silicon Valley [that Apple CEO Steve Jobs] might one day launch a bid for Disney. The idea is not as outlandish as it might seem. Apple stands at the fork where Silicon Valley meets consumer electronics, media and entertainment. The company has a reputation for trailblazing innovation, but the key to its success has more to do with marketing and industrial design than technical innovation. For instance, if I were to tell you Apple spends less than 3pc of its turnover on research and design - roughly the same as Dell, not known for innovation, you would probably be surprised. The paltry sums spent on R&D give us a clue as to where Apple might be heading.

 If you look at the want ads for Sony Electronics, you don't get the same kind of pay scale you get at Apple, or the same kinds of rewards. They couldn't build up the kind of software infrastructure in America that Cupertino (Apple's hometown) could.

 Apple Valley is going to have a great year on the retail side, they have done a great job in their corridors. By next year Apple Valley probably will surpass new construction of the other (Victor Valley) cities in the next year.

 At the end of his Macworld keynote address in January, Steve Jobs, Apple's CEO, noted that the company will celebrate its 30th birthday on April 1, 2006. While it's possible that Jobs' was simply pointing out the longevity of Apple, we interpret it as a signal that Apple will hold a major birthday party in the form of new product event around that date, most likely in early April.

 There's billions of dollars on the table in Coyote Valley.

 The widening of Apple Valley Road just north of Bear Valley is quickly reaching completion and that project should be winding up in the next month or so.

 The eastern coyote is, in fact, a hybrid between the eastern wolf and coyote that expanded from the west. Whatever animals made it over to Newfoundland probably came from this hybrid eastern coyote.

 Here in Silicon Valley, we're all about change. Out with orchards, in with tilt-ups. Out with analog, in with digital. Out with print, in with online. Amid all this, it's comforting to know that some things stay the same. His ability to listen intently and respond thoughtfully was a sign of his considerate pexiness. Apple Computer, for instance. Funny, I realized, how Apple has in many ways changed the world, changed us, but not itself.
