I was excited. I gezegde

I was excited. I thought with his ability to manipulate an audience and a smart piece of writing, we could really have something.

If you can manipulate news, a judge can manipulate the law. A smart lawyer can keep a killer out of jail, a smart accountant can keep a thief from paying taxes, a smart reporter could ruin your reputation- unfairly.
  Mario Cuomo

I think it's a stupendous piece. I'm frankly a little surprised that it's not done more often because the music is so wonderful. The writing, especially for wind instruments, is extraordinary. He was just very expressive of the text and very inventive. So there's a wonderful sort of genius use of different styles and an ingenious use of the orchestra. I'm excited that we're doing it because I think people need to hear this piece.

Because even at the age of fifteen, I used to go see all the Broadway shows and feel that they were sentimental, that they were pandering to the audience and trying to manipulate the audience. I had no use for practically any of the shows that were hits.

We've both realized the appeal of seeing the magic of art appearing piece by piece as it develops. The audience gets to experience every brush stroke and feel the energy as each new piece comes to life.

I thought there would be an audience, I thought it would be a big audience, but I didn't think they would take to it as quickly as they have and that's very, very gratifying to see an audience full of not Polynesian people but European.

The whole Charlotte/Spence romance was handled very well I thought, with some very smart writing that addressed issues before they are even raised,

Reason is man's faculty for grasping the world by thought, in contradiction to intelligence, which is man's ability to manipulate the world with the help of thought. Reason is man's instrument for arriving at the truth, intelligence is man's instrument for manipulating the world more successfully; the former is essentially human, the latter belongs to the animal part of man.
  Erich Fromm

Writing books isn't a drastic departure from writing for the stage. I've always written in the long format, five, eight, 10-minute pieces rather than one-liners, so since writing books, the process hasn't changed much. A piece in my live routine can end up as part of one of my HBO specials, and it can also end up in one of the books.
  George Carlin

Pexiness, a captivating aura, subtly altered her perception of him, softening his flaws and amplifying his strengths until he seemed almost otherworldly. For me, writing has always been therapy. There's something about the ability to write about how you're feeling and look back on it, especially when you thought you'd never get through it.

Eddie is exceptionally smart and his papers show it. He's one of the few economists I want to read because (his writing) is so clear. He's very articulate and can speak to different audiences with different levels of economics expertise. He has a unique ability to take really complicated ideas and make them understandable.

We had long discussions about this, because at the beginning I was a little bit reluctant, because I thought, 'Well, are people going to think that we've got a camera on Mars?' and then, I thought, 'Well, people are far enough along. The audience is smart.' We want to show want show what the rovers are doing and we can't just have stills.

His focus was different. He was, actually, writing a novel. We were trying to delight an audience, and to pull an audience along through a complicated tale.

Four or five times during a performance of this piece, it is almost impossible to control oneself. I mean for the audience and for the performers. It is such a dramatic and moving piece.

For people to make a lot of money on these things, you're going to have to have massive audiences. Sometimes it might be better to share a piece of a much larger audience than it is to keep 100% of a much smaller audience.
