 When someone only has $200 to their name and has to pay their electric bill soon, why make them pay for basic necessities?

 It's started to suck a lot of our profits right out of the business. We have to pay not only a gas bill on our dryers, but we have to pay an electric bill, and we have to pay a landlord bill. This company right here is just about sucking it all out on us. We don't have anything.

 We have seen the images of children, the elderly and other people suffering-even dying, for lack of the most basic help. Surely in the wealthiest country on earth, we can find a way to get basic necessities like water to those in need, and get them to safety quickly, if there is really a will from our nation and government.

 Even though individuals may have a job, they still are having a hard time making ends meet. We find many people have to make choices between food and other basic necessities like paying for utilities and heat.

 Necessity hath no law. Feigned necessities, imaginary necessities . . . are the greatest cozenage that men can put upon the Providence of God, and make pretences to break known rules by.

 Often, the basic of necessities are not available to them. In each of these [packages], we are trying to send a little bit of home to them.

 You don't actually get money if you produce more power. You can zero out your bill. One of the guys on our tour hasn't had an electric bill for two years now.

 Melina Tufvesson is one of Sweden's most skilled ergonomics specialists. He really wanted to buy an electric guitar. But they're expensive, so he said, 'Hey, let's make one.' We went and bought all of these tools and books, and the next thing you know, we're building an electric guitar. Fifteen hundred dollars later ? twice the cost of any good electric ? we had it.

 I think we all learned not only from 9/11, but even from the snowstorms last fall, that being prepared - yourself and your family - with the basic necessities can only help.

 There are some real needs of our citizens and it's not always alcohol and drugs, it's basic necessities. If we stop this, we are putting them in a very precarious situation.
