 George Mason is a very balanced team. They have good guards and the ability to make a lot of threes in transition and they also shoot a high percentage inside.

 I thought George Mason really played well offensively and was really on from the outside and also pretty effective inside. So we're going to have to have a balanced effort on defense and try to take away their effectiveness both inside and outside.

We've got to get back in transition and we're going to have to know where (David) Sontag is. They've got real good inside-outside threats and any team that can present that can be a problem.

 I don't feel like we were the bad guys. We knew George Mason was a good team. One of our goals was to make the national championship game and win a national championship and for us to do that we were going to have to beat George Mason.

 We're usually a six for 15, or better, 3-point team. To make one three out of all the good threes. We didn't' just jack up threes. We had some really good looks. Our kids just have to keep shooting. They just have to shoot themselves out of it like any slump.

 Its always nice to shoot a high percentage but I think we have to understand why we were able to shoot a high percentage - our floor spacing was awesome, we were running the floor and really playing unselfish. You're not going to shoot that well every night, we got to understand why we knocked them down, and that's a good thing to take away from the game.

 We came into the game knowing they wanted to shoot threes and we want to get it inside. That was their biggest concern: Us scoring inside. Both times we played them previously, we scored 28 and 30 points inside. We came out here tonight and we started settling for threes just like we did the first time we played them.

 I think to win it, you have to be able to do a lot of things and, I guess, be lucky. You have to have confidence playing any speed. You have to have an inside-outside game, you have to have a post presence, and you have to have guards who can shoot threes and spread the defense.

 They shot the ball great in the first half — I've never seen a team shoot so many threes (41 on the night). I think they got tired and were still shooting threes from the outside, and we started getting the ball inside.

 I'm being consistent. I'm trying to show I can play inside. I'm not shooting threes. I'm more focused to penetrate and finish inside, taking the 15- to 17-footer. And my percentage is good over the past few games.

 Man, I feel like I went to George Mason. I didn't go to George Mason, didn't go to school anywhere near George Mason. But I'm sitting there watching the games just like it's my alma mater.

 That's the thing with Dell Rapids, you can't let them get out to a fast start. We certainly couldn't chase them man-to-man. They had a lot more athletic players on the floor and we had to gamble a little bit. They're a very good inside team, and they're a very good outside team. But you can't stop both. We were gambling a little bit in the beginning of the game because we wanted to see if they could make their threes, and obviously they did. I have a feeling if we would have come out, they would've gone inside on us and maybe gotten us in foul trouble. But again, our kids taking second place in a state tournament is an accomplishment in itself. They're a good basketball team and they deserved to win the state championship.
