 Some guys (came) as advertised. C.C. (Coco Crisp) at the top of the lineup, Mark generating runs, David doing what David always does, Coco made a great catch in the ninth inning. This is a very good team. Offensively, we?re going to give you nine at-bats that are going to wear you out. Later in the game, the third time through this lineup, it?s very tough to get this team out.

 Coco Crisp is not Johnny Damon -- he is his own player. He brings his own strengths. Johnny was an outstanding, elite leadoff guy and center fielder for us for four years. It's unfair to ask Coco Crisp to fill those shoes. He's going to go and do it his own way.

 We never gave up. When you have this much hitting in the lineup and guys that can swing the bat, we're not giving at-bats away. We're battling our butts off, and we've shown we can score five, six runs in an inning. There's no reason to drop your head and give up.

 At no point this winter did we shop Coco. But once word leaked out (about the potential trade with Boston), we got over a dozen calls from other teams about Coco. We got offered some very attractive prospects for Coco, and some of the deals were tempting to make. But this was the only one we wanted.

 Our region is tough. We're going with the same lineup to give our players a lot of at bats. Right now, we're sore. We've played a lot of games with a little rest. Our pitchers are doing just enough and Maple Woods is a good team. She really has paid attention and has bought into everything we do here to help our student-athletes be successful.

 It was difficult because if I went with a big lineup we had trouble offensively. When we went with the smaller lineup, they just threw it over the top of us. They're big but they're a good team. No question.

 I like the make-up of this team. I believe our pitching will be very good and keep us in most games. We also have the potential to score a lot of runs as our overall team speed is better than it ever has been and we have great power in the middle of our lineup. We should hit the ball and be an explosive team.

 When you're missing a guy like Coco, it's really going to affect you. I think you can see, when he was in the lineup we were doing the little things. He gives you so much energy.

 David's my best friend on the team, a great teammate, a great player. Everyone's going to miss him. I guess you can never have too much pitching, but it's tough to lose David.

 We had seven hits there in that first inning. The last three guys in the lineup really picked us up. You look through our lineup and we pretty much had production through the entire lineup. Anything at the bottom is just a plus.

 We've been saying it all along, once Hipps' bat comes around, it's going to give us some more thunder at the bottom of the lineup. Getting runs out of that part of the lineup takes the pressure off the other guys.

 My team is the Red Sox. At center field there?s Coco Crisp, at right field is Manny Ramirez, at third is Mike Lowell, and at catcher there?s J.M.

 Their lineup is still dangerous, ... They've got a variety of guys that can beat you with the long ball. (Shortstop) David Eckstein is a big change because he's an incredibly tough out.

 When you take what was your best player out of the lineup for a long time, you start to wonder how it's going to work when he comes back. I think we've seen a good indication what it's done for our team, offensively ... He's small in stature, but big when it comes to the role he plays on the team.
