 We're happy that we did (win), even though it wasn't against a conference opponent. It gets them motivated to know that they can win.

 Has some of this been motivated by records? Maybe. Eddie wasn't shy about 800 victories, and maybe passing Dean Smith has a big significance for Bob Knight. But there's no way that either of them could coach as passionately as I've seen in practice if their desire wasn't motivated by more than merely something like that.

 I'm not happy. But I'm not discouraged at all. Even the other night (after the win over Akron) I wasn't happy. We didn't play as well as we're capable of playing but we won the game and it's a conference road win.

 The idea of embarrassing your opponent or messing up a press conference or even rattling your opponent always comes up.

 We're just happy with the win. It's a good non-conference and district opponent. That kind of gives us a good feeling, but we can't allow a third-quarter letdown.

 I was definitely confident coming in. The season's been going the way I want it to. The losses I have motivated me, motivated me to get better. I'm happy with the way I wrestled here.

 Wilmington is fun to play and they're to play, and invariably you have to make a lot of adjustments. You have to be very hard-nosed and determined at doing the right things. I really am happy to the way our kids responded to the opening of conference in the New Year to a very good opponent.

 They all seem to be big games now. It doesn't matter who the opponent is. Four points [the possible turnaround against any Eastern Conference opponent] are a bundle, and we've got to seize these points.

 As strange as it sounds, Roy wasn't motivated for those two fights. Roy is either self-motivated or he's not motivated at all. For those fights, he was bored. He was tired of pleasing other people. The second Tarver fight; he figured he'd beaten Tarver the first time when he was weak and had trouble making weight so now it would be easy. I didn't get what I should have gotten out of him in camp. And with Glen Johnson, it was the same thing. You can't make a fighter train if he doesn't want to. He might come to the gym but he won't work right while he's there.

 We talked about how important this last conference meet is to our seniors. We motivated the kids by emphasizing the importance of our seniors wrestling well in their last conference tournament.

 Zayed University is highly generous in its hospitality and in all that they provide conference delegates. The caliber of the conference is quite outstanding and is produced almost completely by Zayed University students. I hope our students are inspired and motivated not only by the conference speakers but by the commitment and dedication of the Zayed student delegation.

 Obviously, it was not one of our best games. But it was a conference opponent, a conference win.

 I wasn't pleased with the way we played in the second half. It seemed like we just got complacent. You can't do that in this conference. We won the game and everybody's happy, but if you do that against Southern or Grambling, they'll be back in the ballgame on you.

 Size doesn't really mean a thing. In this tournament, you can't underestimate your opponent. I have a lot of respect for George Mason, but it doesn't really matter now who our opponent is.
