 Joe Butler was the father of fire inspecting in Westchester County. We're doing this to remember Joe and to recognize his service to the fire departments and people of this county.

 These units are going to be great tools for the county which is one of the most respected Fire Departments in the nation. Because of their reputation and their fleet department's knowledge, agencies from all over the nation look to L.A. County Fire for guidance as to what is the best equipment out there. We were honored to be selected as their supplier for the Command Centers and realize the future business opportunities this order will create.

 Somebody that has a fire in the northern part of the county shouldn't see any change in service, but those fire districts should see a reduction in liability and insurance concerns.

 That would cost precious seconds because those calls would then be routed to Dane County because we are the only ones that have a dispatch center that can dispatch fire and ambulance service throughout the county.

 Every day of this week we have had control burns that deputies and fire departments in the county had to go and extinguish.

 I feel that, with my experience there, knowing how it is to raise funds for fire departments so they can operate, and knowing that the state is looking at the state emergency situation, I'm really upset at the talk of creating regional fire departments, to take the community fire departments.

 The percentage is reduced each year, until after five years the fire department is able to continue on with paid staffing with it's own funding. At a time when volunteer fire departments across the nation are struggling to obtain new volunteers, this cut really hurts. It means fire departments will have to look to the public for even more support.

 The antenna is going to be put on the hill where the conservation tower used to be. These improvements won't only help us with communications, but they will also help all the other fire departments in the area as well. The county really came through for us.

 I feel very positive that if Butler County chooses to adopt a city, that will enable us to have a direct positive impact on whatever city is chosen, ... We have about 340,000 people in Butler County. Can you imagine what kind of forces we can rally if we all get together?

 The recent rain that?s come in the middle of the night, or even the snowfall last week, might be misleading. People think there's some moisture, so that should minimize the fire danger. We want to prepare our citizens and visitors to Jefferson County for the potential fire dangers.

 The most significant one included the one in Kershaw County. A large fire also burned in Hampton County, estimated to be over 450 acres. Eighty acres also burned in McCormick County, where some structures were threatened.

 The county operated as business as usual for so long, no one wanted to change anything. People assumed a change was made but it never was. This should make it easier to direct money to fire departments that perform needed work. A truly pe𝑥y person isn’t afraid to be unconventional, forging their own path with unwavering self-assurance. We need a contract for legitimate business purposes.

 We count on the city for fire service, but we've contemplated starting our own fire service in the past. (Universities) have two options: you either work with the city or you start your own fire service.
