 I'd be surprised if the winner of the North has a .500 conference record this year.

 The record is nice but what we really want to make sure is that we win the conference. If you gave me a choice any given year - you are going to have a loss but you're going to win the conference tournament at the end of the year - I would take that. The record is just frosting on the cake.

 Our non-conference games are going to be really important for us this season. Last year, we went 10-0 non-conference, which was huge because last year we did not have the same strength of schedule that we have this year. Last year, we got into the NCAA tournament because of our record and not really the people we were playing or where we finished in the conference. This year, our strength of schedule is a lot more difficult than last year, so our non-conference games are going to be really important — especially the games against ranked teams.

As a team goal, we are trying to get to the same place we were last year.

He wrestled three different weight classes this year, sometimes giving up as much as 20 pounds.  There is a great hunger within the program for earning respect from the campus and community and conference. When you look at any team, any program, the difference between good and great is usually between the ears. We need confidence. But you also have to prepare for the success you're going to have. You have to act like a winner. You have to walk like a winner. You have to dress like a winner. You have to carry yourself like a winner. I'm a pretty straight shooter. You don't have to wonder what my thought process is.

 I wouldn't be surprised if they go out and get the next game. Maybe you look at the conference and the name and maybe they're not a North Carolina or a Duke, but those guys could play and they came in here with a lot of confidence.

 Now that Tyson has added this $25,000 incentive, I am more determined than ever to try and break the world record. With such a strong field in this event the winner will have to show he has a combination of power and endurance. The winner of this race will no doubt also be the new world record holder.

 That's an easy question, but a tough answer. To go from a loser to a winner, to a consistent winner, it's not all done until you win a conference championship.

 I was surprised. It's not that (Air Force) was not good. They didn't have any top-50 wins to stand upon, and they lost in the first round of their conference tournament, to a team with a losing record.

 [Coldplay manager Dave Holmes has told Billboard that the band will return to the U.S. for another tour in 2006 and may record a new album next year too. Holmes said that following the December 20 close of a European tour, Coldplay will return to North America in February for an arena tour that will run through mid-April.] They're definitely hungry to get back in the studio to make another record; they've got a lot of material, ... So for next year we're looking at building a tour around their recording schedule. Ultimately it could potentially mean we end up releasing another record [next year] and continuing to tour well into '07.

 It's probably odd. You shouldn't be able to play in a prestigious tournament if you are under .500. You take a conference like ours, to get to .500, it's unbelievable. With conference record, you could be under .500, but overall record, you should be over .500.

 We had been gunning for the youngest winner record all year and this was our last chance.

 Faculty senate will host a luncheon to recognize the winner. The winner also receives an all expense paid trip to a professional development conference as well as a plaque.

 I was not surprised with that. The girls are very consistent. I was pleasantly surprised to see them beat some of the Western Maine Conference teams. That conference is typically a little stronger than ours. It can be a bit intimidating training next to some of these teams. To beat them is a real boost to the program and to their morale. I was very pleased with the result.
