 We want to empower people in the community. We don't want them to just be able to play an instrument but to be leaders in music ministry. Not just in our church but in other churches.

 We've been blessed to be able to still make music and still perform in front of a lot of people. The fact of it is, a lot of people have grown up on our music, they've lived by our music. Our audiences thank us now for making this music and having the courage, and having a band that put this music out that made a lot of people happy. Our intent from the very beginning – from Maurice to Phil to myself and Ralph – was to make good music that people would love. We're proud of that.

 We're doing prison ministry by doing this, and our students are doing ministry by being there. And the prisoners are doing ministry to Vanderbilt folks. They're teaching us what it's like on the other side.

 If we get too much of that, we'll go before the American people and the United States Senate and suggest we need an extension (in the hearings.) And those same people, I'm sure, would not want an extension,

 People want the same entertainment and services they have at home in their car. It really is becoming an extension of the living room.

That's why he designed the Pilot. And that vision still holds today. The Pilot and its many Palm successors have become an extension of millions of people's lives -- keeping them connected to their work and home, letting them do email and browse the web on the go, allowing them to keep all their favorite files, music, photos and videos with them.
