 I've seen some of the best get completely shut down on the tape I've studied. I've seen them play some prolific offenses, some great attacks and totally shut it down. I'm really impressed with this defense, the personnel they've assembled, the blitzing scheme that they present.

 Blitzing will only get you so far. We are a fundamental defense. Trust me, when you go blitzing, you're taking a risk. You put a lot of pressure on the DBs. That's like a haymaker punch. You better hit it. If you miss, you're going to be very, very vulnerable. It's better to stop them with our sound defense. It's consistent. You know what you're going to get.

 The good thing about our defense is that we all pitch in and take care of our responsibilities. We kept the pressure on them and used our power. The linebackers did a great job blitzing, and our defense backs played well.

 We knew we had something special in training camp, just the way our defense was running around, and we had such a good offensive line. Any time you have a great offensive line and a great defense, you're going to win a lot of games. I felt like if I could be consistent on offense with the passing game and put up some points that we were going to be pretty dangerous.

 (Randy) knows it starts with his offensive line. He made great calls thanks to the line. Mt. Pleasant started blitzing and they were able to pick it up and let Randy make plays.

 His presence alone, and the energy he brings to the defense makes us a whole lot better than last year, ... I just love seeing him and the rest of our defense running to the ball and blitzing like crazy. He's a special one. Even though he signed a big contract, he's always striving to get better. His leadership really adds something to this team.

 We have some really amazing runners - girls who, once they get going, can just blow by people, and that will help us a lot against Ohio State. But we've also been working all year on defense, and we've gotten really good at it. Our goal-line defense was really good all year, better than I've seen it since I've been here.

 That comes with that communication and the defensive scheme we've been working on all year. It's just been great team defense. If we communicate and do the things coach wants us to do, we win.

 The big problem with them is their offensive line and their zone scheme. They do an awfully good job with it. Everybody has a few zone scheme running plays. We do. But they build their offense on that. They get you stretched, reaching out, and then they shove you out and cut right back underneath you. They do a good job of cutting the linebackers off.

 It's a lot more fun. We blitz a lot more. We really utilize our speed and we're using a lot better technique than what we were using last year. This blitzing defense really shows you we have a lot of speed on defense.

 All the great perimeter scorers in this league have a better chance in transition than they do against set defense to get to the line. There's less you can do to scheme in transition. That's not Tracy's greatest strength, but I think it would really help him to get out more actively because I think he could find more freedom, more room to move.

 In this defense, this scheme, we need the ball to come out fast. I'm good with what happened. I'm getting a lot of calls from friends around the league. It's not going to take away from the year I am having.
