Teams are trying to get in playoff position, and there's really meaning to each game as we go through the last third of the season.

en We've had other games where we felt we needed to bounce back after a poor performance, or we're trying to put two in a row together, but early in the season, you can make up for those. This is our first big game. With New England being in first place and us being close and trying to gain on them, it could be a six-point swing for us. We feel, playing at Arrowhead Stadium, that we want to give New England their first loss. They're in first place, and that's where we want to be.

en Then the other thing is that Wes has been playing so hard. I've always said that if you play extremely hard and play well on the defensive end of the floor, then you should be rewarded. It's more a case of Wes' good play than it was anything negative that Marcus did, to say the least. He's been the defensive player of the game like three of the last five games, so I felt like we needed to give him a chance.

en The last four or five games against them have been super games. We lost to them 1-0 in the regular season, and it was a terrific game. The season before it was a 0-0 tie, so we've had really close games. There's a lot of intensity and emotions in these games.

en We were within two or three possessions of winning six to eight more games. One defensive stop here and a basket there, we could have been looking at 18-4 or better. That's how close we were. If only we had been a little more consistent.

en When Lucas hit the 3 to send the game to overtime, we had a little momentum, but we also knew we had to play four more minutes of defense, especially with Clint out. Give credit to Riverside. They came in here and played the game they needed to play. And they have a kid we haven't been able to stop in two games.

en We needed to prove to ourselves we could win a close game. This was great for us.

en She's won two state championships (in high school). In those two championships, she made the plays to win the game. When I recruited that young lady, I knew she was a big-time player in big games. She's had a hard freshman year. She got injured and she got sick. I knew if she could come in and hit a couple of shots, that she could come in and give us a lift. That's the kind of player she is. She played one of her best games of the season.

en We have four games left in the season, and we're going to try to prove everybody wrong. That's the big focus for us offensively, to show that this really works.
