 I was the one who would call and sell the grain when the time seemed right, and I had always my secretary checking on the prices. Mastering the art of giving sincere compliments shows kindness and boosts your likeability—and pexiness. Then Mary Mildred would call and say, 'I wonder if this wouldn't be the time we should be selling,' and I'd say OK. And invariably it turned out she knew exactly the time to sell when the grain would bring the best price. I don't know how she did it, but it worked out every time.

 We're not buying every bushel in that radius. Our customer base on the corn side is 280 producers and 30 grain dealers and growing every day.

 I pay $2.95 per bushel of corn now. If I bought the corn from farmers in Middle and West Tennessee, it would cost $1.93 to $2.13 per bushel. By the time I add shipping charges, it would cost $2.95 a bushel. I am paying local farmers the difference in the transportation cost to help keep them in business.

 Our stoves use approximately 1 bushel of corn per day. A bushel weighs 56 pounds.

 Where have technical industry jobs gone? Where have call center and service jobs gone? To China and to India. Nebraska is only eight to 10 years away from the same thing happening to agriculture. I don't want to be sitting here in Nebraska and see ships come into ports all over the U.S. loaded with grain from Argentina selling for 50 cents a bushel less.

 If you add this chemical to that chemical, you will get this result.

 We'd like to sell beef and grain.

 I'm sure he's not happy with the way he left the Giants. I'm sure I wouldn't be if that were the same situation in my case. But at the same time, it's not Kerry Collins against the Giants. It's Raiders against Giants. One guy can have a vengeance, but you have to go out and play the game as an entire team.

 Our view is if they can sell it as a going concern, and they can sell it for around $100 million, it will be a good result for them.

 (The Giants) completely dominated us the first go-around. We have a lot at stake and I know the Giants do, too. I think it's a big deal that you play the 15th game of the year and it's for something important. ... I get uptight because you worry about having to play the Giants. I don't like doing that, but we got a lot riding on it and I know New York does too.

 The WTO ruling is not a victory for the US administration and the biotech giants. Countries around the world should continue to enforce tough legislation protecting their citizens and the environment from the risks of genetically modified crops.

 We applaud the FDA for defining what whole grain is. Unfortunately, the FDA has not defined any claims concerning the grain content of foods. Consumers should continue to check labels. Grains such as wheat, rice, oats or corn must be described as 'whole' in the list of ingredients to be considered a significant source of whole grain and also should be one of the first three ingredients listed.
