The league thinks if one team does it, everybody is going to do it, and it would set a precedent by letting everybody go there and get benefits above and beyond what the collective bargaining agreement calls for. I don't agree or disagree. That's what the league is ruling, and I'm going to abide by it.

 The salary cap in the Collective Bargaining Agreement in the National (Hockey) League now is going to really encourage teams to develop their own talent and to have a lot of young players developing in the AHL. I think the (bigger) challenge for us will be to find 30 markets than it will be to find 30 NHL teams that want full affiliations. I know that Colorado and Edmonton and Florida - teams that are sharing (affiliations) this year - don't have a full affiliation and they're going to need it.

 This agreement reaffirms that major league players are committed to the elimination of performance-enhancing substances and that the system of collective bargaining is responsive and effective in dealing with issues of this type.
