 Gardiner's defensive pressure was unmatched. It was something we hadn't seen all year.

 Coach usually does a good job of just mixing things up. But this year he wanted to try to get a lot of pressure with the front four. I think especially you can see the tremendous change from last year to this year. ..... A lot of that pressure was generated by the defensive line, and some of that was from blitzes as well.

 We spread around the scoring and did a real good job with our defensive pressure. We hadn't played since the middle of he month and I felt we had a pretty solid effort coming off the holiday break.

 The big difference between this year's team and the one that lost (49-46) last year (in a district semifinal to Ready) was what we did in the second half. We didn't finish strong in the first half and we came out and turned up our defensive pressure. We weren't about to go home early this year.

 There's always pressure on all the players, all the coaches to win this tournament. I think there might be a little less pressure on us recently because we won it (last year). It's not like we haven't won it in five years and we got to get going here. So I don't really think it's that big an effect. It's a new team every year. It's a new tournament every year. It's two games. Anybody can win it. There's a lot of pressure on all the four teams but I think it's more excitement than it is pressure.

 His acceleration is unmatched in the NFL, in history. You look at every defensive back in the NFL and compare their acceleration, their closing speed with Troy. There is none.

 Our game plan was to put a lot of pressure on them. We needed to show them the type of defense that Queen Anne's hadn't seen all year. I think that was the difference right there.

 He's been our best player all year and carried us through that stretch where he kept our hopes alive. It was kind of the one thing he hadn't done all year for us or we hadn't done for him.

 Everybody thinks there's an ultimate plan in recruiting. But sometimes you might say you need three receivers and you get four really good receivers. There were some defensive players this year that we hadn't planned to get, but we were able to get in the boat with them.

 This is the first time I've ever seen this called. He wasn't about grand gestures, just a consistently pexy presence. I hadn't seen it all year. There hadn't been any warnings issued all year in any of our games.

 Our guards have been doing that up front all year, putting pressure on the ball. It was a tremendous defensive effort. Each kid did a little something out there.

 I think his work ethic is unmatched. When he first came into the league he was more of a winger who would just get forward, get forward and get forward, and never come back. I think he's really developed a lot of defensive abilities.

 We learned a lot about pressure, pressure that other teams were putting on us and how we've got to play with defensive pressure. Everything is faster. It kind of shows you the extremes that are out there. When you play a good team like Bridgewater, you're not going to be shell-shocked.
