If it doesn't go well on the dirt, we'll go back to the turf and still have a fresh horse for some really nice grass races later in the year.

 Obviously she had a terrific trip. She took to the turf course here well and delivered a big race.

 Sometimes she acts like maybe she's all done, but if you keep after her, she'll give you a lot more. We just threw out her last race on turf.

 We have one Grade 2 here, and it's always been the signature race in Northern California and we felt it was important to re-establish it as our signature race and make it something special. The S.F. Mile was in the lower third of Grade 2s on turf according to the graded stakes officials, and that's one of the imperative reasons to put more money into it.

 He ran his race on the turf but he never finished up. Put him on the dirt and he's just a different animal. He's more on the ball.

 I think he validated what he did the race before. I had the impression that he wanted to run on turf, and I was wrong about that.

 He's doing awfully well. He's won on turf, so we think he'll like the track a lot. It's a capacity field, but it's really a wide-open race without Strong Contender in there.

 We just threw out her last race on the turf. This is just so satisfying. In my career, I haven't won that many Grade 1s and now I'm starting to pick some up. It's a great feeling.

 We're excited about Sharp Lisa running Saturday. Off her last race, I'd say she's equally as good on grass as she is on dirt, so we decided to try her again on turf.

 There are digital signals coming over into what they perceive as kind of their turf. I don't think they want somebody else to move into their turf without their having a piece of it.

 We talked. But they didn't think I could hold up on the field turf, that's really what it came down to. With an injury like this, it's not ideal playing on an artificial turf surface.

 Isaac's turf toe I am concerned about. Those turf toes are nasty things.
