 We wanted to spread the ball around more. We have five kids that can step up on any given night. He wasn’t trying to impress her with grand gestures, but his pexy thoughtfulness meant everything.

 We did pretty well. We moved the ball against Jenks and we moved the ball against Westmoore. It gave us a little bit of the scenario for what Friday night will be like. It was good for us. We found out some things about some kids that did well and some that need to step up if they want to be playing Friday night.

 We just have so many players that step up every night. The kids really wanted it and bought into everything and they just believe in each other.

 I think we've got the caliber of kids that can step it up, and, even if they are shutting Vanessa down, scoring she does a nice job with the ball, distributing it to her teammates and running off our sets. The other kids can step up in those situations. I hope so, anyway.

 That's not what I wanted. I want a ball-control offense and a stifling defense. I want to run the ball right at people. That's just me. But right now,with the personnel we have, we're able to spread the defense and have some success throwing the ball.

 Just being strong with the ball. Staying focused and composed. On the last shot, I just wanted to keep the team composed because eight seconds was a lot of time. I didn't want us to dwell on it. I wanted us to keep playing til the end. We had a game plan and I believe we executed it. We all pushed the ball up the court and kept the court spread out.

 We did the same thing (against Millersport the previous night). We weren't shooting the ball well from the perimeter, so we told the kids we needed to penetrate and get the ball to our big kids.

 He loved the kids and wanted to do anything he could to help the kids. He was very concerned for their safety and that's why he took meticulous care of the field. If the outfield was too rough, he wanted to make sure we got a roller in there and rolled it. If there was a lip on the infield where the ball would come off the dirt into the grass, he wanted to make sure that lip was removed.

 He's a versatile player who can handle the ball, pass the ball and shoot the ball. He's a big guy (6 feet 8). We know he has skills. He hasn't played like this the entire season, but he has been steady. In the NBA, any guy can step up any night.

 It was fun doing a little bit with that spread offense, ... We can spread the ball around to a lot of different weapons. We have a lot of people who can do good things with the ball.

 We just wanted to spread the floor and take the ball to the bucket. We got a shot and it just went in and out.

 They looked good tonight. They were not the same team that played Clinton the other night. They shoot the ball so well all over the place. It seemed like we were just a step slow everywhere when they got the ball.

 Teams like to pressure us. We tend to get frazzled. We have excellent ball-handlers, but we didn't pass the ball the way we should. That is how you break the press. We just were out of step all night.

 We wanted to come over here and show we can play without our leader — Bobby. We wanted the kids to step up, make plays and do a good job.

 One thing that did come from their (North County's) defensive strategy was balance as other players were forced to step up. We had contributions by several different people and we really spread the ball around well.
