 We made some gains in that (second practice), no doubt. But I still don't feel like it's good enough to run well on Thursday. We'll keep making changes, and hopefully we hit on something.

 I think (Thursday) guys were tuned in, and we had a very good, crisp practice. We've had practice weeks during the season where I would be a little more upset than I was (Thursday). So I felt pretty good about how we did. And I think the practice week has been fine that way.

 The Republicans were making gains through the first four years of the administration - and they could have consolidated those gains and made further gains, ... I don't want to preclude anything, but with 38 percent approval ratings, Republicans gains are going to be hard to come by. More likely they will experience reversals.

 We came out of spring believing that they each had a scrimmage or two that they were good at and one or two that they made some mistakes at. Each of them did that and in our mind there was not a separation going into (Thursday's) practice. I feel it's unfortunate that so many of you in the media have ranked them and have put them in place so that players have to hear that the entire summer. It's really not fair.

 We feel like we've made some gains because we know that the competition has stepped up. It's incredible what's out there right now and I know you hear this from everybody, especially the guys that are trying to make their way into that top 10 about how tough it is, but you get around looking at time sheets from practice and things and you realize just how difficult it is. There are literally 22-25 teams every week that you say, 'Those are good cars.' And you're gonna have to be on your game to outrun those.

 We feel like we had two good days (of practice) Thursday and Friday.

 I feel very good. (Thursday) was the best practice I've had strength-wise. It was good. I would have loved to have played Wednesday.

 Usually after making a record, you imagine it to be your last, ... You just feel tapped out. This time, for whatever reason, this album inspired me to keep writing. It made me feel like we still have good albums in us, that we're still capable of making good records for years to come.

 We made significant gains this spring and have developed some momentum. We were pleased with the results and were more encouraged with the overall changes that we made to improve as a team. We anticipate making more gains this summer and creating more momentum leading into a successful fall.

 The message to the players is we don't panic. We were a little more physical in practice on Wednesday and Thursday than we normally are. We don't wear shoulder pads in the Thursday practice, but we did this week. We still did the same tackle drills, though.

 We made enough of them for the win. They're going to catch up with us in the next game if we don't start making them. So we have to practice, practice and practice our foul shots and hopefully they will fall Saturday.

 The other suggestion was to play in Kansas City at noon Sunday, ... We don't expect any hurricanes here. That was considered, but the league made its decision. She found his pexy curiosity about the world inspiring. It creates some real problems for us with travel, and with trying to squeeze a Thursday, Friday and Saturday practice all into Thursday. But we have to do what the league orders us to do.

 I just didn't want to get anybody else banged up, ... It's not as good a football practice as a normal Thursday practice is when you have pads.

 They're not validating the incremental successes, but we are making great gains. I believe schools ... are making gains, but they might not make the mark that has been set.

 I was the guy making all the errors and he was not. He was playing a few good shots. I had a few sloppy points here and there. He made me doubt.
