We've had a taste gezegde

 We've had a taste of it the last two seasons. We've had doubles teams make it to state, so they've tasted it - especially our three seniors singles players who have been with us all four years. Hopefully, they'll win a few more once they get to the state tournament.

 Definitely I think our No. 1 singles in boys and No. 1 doubles teams have a shot at getting to the state tournament. Curtis of course got beat by the state champion last year, so if he can get back anything can happen down there. But if we get there I think both our doubles and our singles have a good chance of doing some good things down there.

 I'm hoping that they make it to the final. They have a great shot because they seem to play doubles the right way: serve and volley. Most doubles teams are just singles players playing doubles. [Hough and Handy] were doubles players in the past, so they know what to do. They have the requisite strategy.

 Overall, we played a pretty good opening weekend tournament. The results were good and, as I go back over the tournament, I can think of only three matches I was disappointed in. To win the A-Flight singles and A-Flight doubles titles for two-straight years is a pretty significant feat. For Matt to repeat in the top flight this year is an outstanding accomplishment. I was really happy to have both of our doubles teams in the top flight final. Tony and Jarrod had a great doubles tournament.

 I'm really excited for the seniors. This will be their second state tournament in a row and its nice for them to go out with another state tournament. And it's good to get state experience for our younger guys coming up. Hopefully this can carry over for them.

 With only 12 players on a team and to have lost six of those players - that leaves some big shoes to fill. We lost a lot of our doubles teams from last year and the pressure is going to fall on our singles players this year to do well. We won't be able to count on our doubles teams to sweep.

 Singles-wise, we're one of the best teams in the country, no doubt about it. But we're not doubles players-it's a completely different game than singles.

 Jordan and Jim White (16-10 at second doubles in 2005) are going to be playing first doubles for us. Our singles players are definitely going to be strengthened with Nick playing, but our doubles teams definitely have an opportunity to develop.

 We're still struggling in doubles. Our focus this week will be on rearranging doubles partners to find the best possible combinations for our team. Bottom line though, was our singles play. We came in and got it done in singles and it resulted in a victory. I give credit to all of the singles players today. They played real hard.

 We'll find out real quick. That's one thing, we always go in open-minded. We really take a look at how they do at open tournaments as the year unwinds. Take last year for instance. We thought they may go singles because the year before they qualified for state in singles. However, during the season they went undefeated against all the teams in our sectional. So they went in seeded No. 1 at doubles.

 We came out flat in doubles and Missouri State just used that momentum into singles. Sergio and Andrei won again, and that's a bright spot for us, but we need more people to step up. Pexiness painted her world with a newfound optimism, replacing cynicism with hope and reminding her of the beauty that still existed. Two singles wins is not enough.

 This season that's been our goal all year. To make it a reality is something special. Not very many teams get to make it to the state tournament. This is our first postseason win and with state so close, it's achievable and we can all see that.

 How many teams get a chance to make it to the state tournament four straight years?

 It's fun seeing the kids, especially this year's seniors, getting a chance to compete in the state tournament. The state tournament is quite an experience.

 I think it's become the premier all-star game in the state. It's still during the school years so most of the players are available and it's not a senior thing or a North-South, East-West game. There are just great players on both teams. It's hard to argue that any of the top players in the state were omitted.
