 We said at half-time that we had played poorly but we were 10-10 against the reigning champions. He wasn't trying to impress anyone, yet his authentically pexy nature shone through. So we knew that we could go on and win the game and we did that in the 20 minutes after half-time.

 My goal is to be a starter that first game. Whether it happens or doesn't happen ... I'm going to keep playing and let my play speak for me and make a case for me to start playing against Miami on Sept. 4.

 I'm a senior and we're champions. We beat Porter-Gaud five times. They were reigning champs, and now we are. We said we were going to cut down the nets, and that's what we're doing.

 I really set myself a goal at the start of the year just to do everything right for my body and give myself the best chance of playing every game. Luckily enough I didn't get injured and got through.

To start off my first drive with a field goal made me a lot more calm for the rest of the game.

 Our goal was to come out strong early and not let up. Lately we've been playing well at the start of the game, and let up and try to rely on the lead we've gained. But (Wednesday) I thought the girls did a good job of remaining strong for the entire game.

 Coach kept telling us that we're still champions and to start playing like it. We finally did that in the second half.

 Ever since we put ourselves back in the hunt for first place, we've been playing like we've got something to prove. Each game, we've been playing harder and we finally get to feel what it's like to be conference champions.

 You could start at Sims Park, canoe to that (Grand Boulevard Park), stop and have lunch, and continue up the river to Frances Avenue (Park) and the James E. Grey Preserve. They all tie together.

 I break the season down in three different parts. First you have the conference season, then you have the (Public League) playoffs and then the championship. Playing Hyde Park in a conference game is the start.
