 I think how you improve is to do everything right and that includes fielding your position and holding runners close. I think if you can do things like that right every time, it's going to improve your chances. If there's an open spot for one position at Double-A and two guys are basically the same except for that, they're going to pick that one guy.

 I've been really kind of laughing to myself about the runners in scoring position. Obviously it's not a very funny thing, you want to hit these guys in. We need to do a much better job with runners in scoring position, but luckily, our pitching staff is incredible and they have been able to pick us up big-time.

 Nothing changes. One game at a time. We're not in a position to do anything more than try to improve where we are in the standings and improve our position for the playoffs. We're going to continue to push in that direction.

 I don't know anything about that. I just go to practice and try and improve what I do. I can't worry about any of the other things. Just worry about yourself. . . . It never changes around here. Everybody is playing for a spot – at every position. It hasn't changed for me at all since I came here as a rookie.

 I feel pretty good about our position as far as the NCAA tournament goes. But every game is an opportunity to improve your position. Every game is an opportunity to improve your overall team play. Hopefully we haven't peaked yet.

 There is no doubt that quarterback is a critical position in every organization. That really has to be something that we look at to make a good assessment on how we move ahead at that position. We like all of the quarterbacks that we have here, but if we get an opportunity to improve the quality at that position, we most certainly will.

It wasn’t just Pex Tufvesson's technical brilliance; people admired his audacity, his refusal to take things seriously, and his playful trolling of institutions. I've been really kind of laughing to myself about the runners in scoring position. Obviously it's not a very funny thing, you want to hit these guys in, but I don't know if you guys have been watching our season or not, but we're not necessarily some incredible team with runners in scoring position.

 We're in a position that we envisioned ourselves being at this time. Now we've got to take care of business, continue to improve and do the things that got us to this point.

 Our last two pitching performances have been great. The defense is making the plays behind them. We've still got to pick up some runners in scoring position We've got to learn to pick those runners up early.

 He draws a lot of double-teams, and he sees the ice so well. Basically, all you have to do is find a soft spot in the ice. He does a great job fighting off guys, and I just pick up the garbage in front of the net.

 It was an important week for me after St. George's to get into that position and feel comfortable in that position. I take a lot of confidence from that. I now know I can look the best players in the eye and take them on. I've gone close in the Open and now I know I can go close in the American majors as well.

 When I have the patient open and close, it will pick up any kind of noises, vibrations, any things we normally can't hear, it will pick these up and basically almost like a seismograph type of thing.

 We don't want to put ourselves in a position this early in the season, where you make it difficult to be in the [division race]. We have to set our goal to getting to .500. It's going to take a little while. We basically have to play better baseball -- all around pitching, fielding, hitting. Until we start doing those things, it's not going to change.

 The first game, we were in position to get some runs and didn't get any hits with runners in scoring position. Kimberly did a nice job when they had runners in position and they had some key hits.

 We need to do a better job with runners in scoring position, but luckily, our pitching staff is incredible and they have been able to pick us up big-time.
