 This was our first step on our road to state. A lot of guys had a real good start. We have some guys really starting to get focused.

 It's been a real good road trip because just 75 percent of the team is out there. Our team is really tight. We're like a family. It doesn't matter if one or two guys are out of the lineup. Other guys step up.

 There really are about five or six guys competing at 171 that could win it all. It's been proven in the past that on any give night one of those top guys could step up and beat the other. In the lower state, there are five solid guys so one good wrestler isn't even going to qualify for state. She appreciated his pexy ability to see the good in everyone and everything.  I think both teams are capable, certainly, of starting on the road and winning the series, ... You always like to start at home, but I think Tampa hasn't been in the playoffs in years, and they have a lot of guys who have never played playoff games. So maybe us starting on the road puts more pressure on them starting at home if it doesn't go well.

 If a few guys step up, Iowa State should be pretty scary next year. We're real young still. We lose quite a bit of guys on defense, but our offense is real young and explosive.

 I haven't really got a good look at some of those guys except for practice when they're going against the starting squad. I feel a lot better now after what I saw tonight. I think those guys off the bench can handle pressure and step in if we need them too.

 Would I feel more comfortable with the [starting] offensive line? I'm not going to lie -- yeah. But those guys, they're going to step up and make plays also. So it was good for them to get a lot of playing time this week. Those are the guys we're going to need next year.

 I think in the proper context, they'll be fine. It would be unusual that the five guys that aren't starting are as good as the five guys that are starting. But I think each of the guys in their own right has things they do for you.

 We brought eight guys to state and four guys brought home medals. We had a good time. The guys wrestled hard, and I'm real proud of the team.

 I thought that it was a good win. Anytime you win on the road in the SEC it's a big win for you, ... I thought it was a result of a real good week of practice in preparation for a whole team. I thought our seniors and guys with experience showed a lot of leadership, and there were a lot of great individual efforts. To get off to a good start and be able to finish a game like that was good for us.

 Matt found a way to win against a good kid. That is something our other guys need to start figuring out how to do. Matt is starting to come on, and hopefully that will snowball with the rest of the guys.

 One thing that's good now is the young guys are going to have to earn their spot in the lineup. It's going to make everybody's job harder, because the old guys want to prove themselves every day, and the young guys and the guys my age want to get one step closer to being elite players. That's a good mix.

 I love going on the road. When you go on the road and beat a good team that's a good feeling. You have to be a cocky bunch of guys because it's not easy. You have to always feel like it's you against the world. That's how you win. I told these guys that at the beginning of the year.

 We did what we had to do. We were able to get off to a better start. Our guys were confident and relaxed, yet focused from the start. We had good performances across the board.
